The role will be responsible for designing and building robust automation frameworks from scratch using Playwright, ensuring high-quality delivery across Web UI, API, and End-to-End customer journeys. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, developers, architects, and product teams within an Agile delivery model to accelerate quality assurance through automation and CI/CD integration.\n\nHybrid working:\nThe places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.\nYour Role:\nAutomation Strategy & Framework Development\nDesign, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Playwright and TypeScript.\nEstablish automation best practices, coding standards, and reusable testing components.\nBuild and maintain automation libraries, utilities, and reporting frameworks from scratch.\nDrive automation coverage across functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.\nTest Execution & Quality Assurance\nDevelop and execute automated test scripts covering Web UI, API, and business-critical workflows.\nValidate end-to-end customer journeys across contact centre platforms and integrated applications.\nPerform regression testing and ensure release readiness through continuous quality validation.\nCollaborate with development teams to identify, reproduce, and resolve defects efficiently.\nCI/CD & DevOps Integration\nIntegrate automation suites into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.\nEnable automated execution, reporting, and quality gates within deployment workflows.\nSupport continuous testing practices within DevOps ecosystems.\nManage source code repositories using Git and version control best practices.\n\nYour Skills:\nEssential\n8+ years of software testing and QA automation experience.\nMinimum 2+ years of hands-on Playwright automation experience.\nStrong experience designing and developing automation frameworks from scratch.\nExtensive experience in Web UI, API, and End-to-End automation testing.\nStrong programming skills in TypeScript and JavaScript.\nExperience in integrating automation solutions within Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.\nHands-on experience with Git and source code management.\nExperience using Jira and Xray for test management and defect tracking.\nStrong understanding of Agile and Scrum delivery methodologies.\nExperience creating reusable libraries, utilities, and reporting solutions.\nAbility to lead automation initiatives and mentor junior QA engineers.\nDesirable\nContact Centre transformation or migration programme experience.\nExperience testing IVR platforms and call-flow journeys.\nKnowledge of call routing, queue management, and telephony systems.\nExperience validating agent desktop and supervisor desktop workflows.\nCRM integration testing experience.\nVoice and omnichannel customer interaction testing experience.\nWe are a Disability Confident Employer:\nCapgemini is proud to be a Disability Confident Employer (Level 2) under the UK Government’s Disability Confident scheme.
