This is a handson engineering role embedded within an Agile delivery team with responsibility for driving quality through automation shiftleft testing and continuous integration practices.\n\nHybrid working:\nThe places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.\n\nYour Role:\nDesign develop and maintain robust API contract integration end-to-end performance and resilience testing frameworks\nDevelop automated test suites using Jest TypeScript JUnit Gradle and Playwright\nBuild and maintain Kafka testing frameworks to validate event streams consumer behavior lag management replay scenarios and idempotent processing\nValidate event contracts and payloads using JSON Schema AJV and contract testing methodologies\nDesign and execute performance load and scalability tests for policy evaluation services and event ingestion platforms\nAutomate testing for identity authentication authorization token lifecycle revocation and fail closed security scenarios\nIntegrate automation suites into GitLab CICD pipelines ensuring quality gates automated reporting and deployment readiness checks\nCreate and maintain clear test reporting using Allure or equivalent reporting frameworks\nCollaborate closely with developers to promote TDD BDD specification by example and defect prevention practices\nSupport continuous improvement of testability observability and quality engineering standards across the platform\n\nYour Skills:\nStrong handson experience in test automation engineering across APIs microservices distributed systems and event driven architectures\nProficiency with Jest TypeScript Playwright JUnit and Gradle\nPractical experience testing Apache Kafka including topic seeding asynchronous validation lag monitoring replay testing and resilience scenarios\nExpertise in contract testing API validation JSON Schema and AJV\nExperience conducting performance load and resilience testing for lowlatency and high throughput systems\nStrong knowledge of CICD quality gates automated test reporting test data management and release validation\nUnderstanding of TDD BDD mocking frameworks specification by example and shiftleft quality engineering\nFamiliarity with Java and Spring Boot applications to support test automation and service validation\nExperience with Docker Docker Compose and GitLab CICD pipelines\nHandson experience using AIassisted engineering tools such as Claude Code GitHub Copilot or similar platforms to accelerate test creation and validation.\n\nDesirable (Not Mandatory):\nExperience testing OPARego policy engines and authorization decision services\nKnowledge of OAuth 20 OpenID Connect OIDC Ping Identity LDAP and IAM testing frameworks\nExperience with Allure reporting quality dashboards and test trend analysis\nFamiliarity with service mesh architectures API gateways mTLS certificate management and securityfocused testing\nExposure to highly regulated environments such as Banking Financial Services Insurance or Public Sector organizations'.\n\nWe are a Disability Confident Employer:\nCapgemini is proud to be a Disability Confident Employer (Level 2) under the UK Government’s Disability Confident scheme.
