CDM serves as the governance function accountable for the data risk for the organization. CDM is on a transformational journey to build out the data governance control framework focusing on automation and preventative controls to unleash the business for future data needs including generative AI and new third party data.\nThe CDM Team is currently hiring for a Risk Manager who will support our risk and control function. As a key member of the CDM team, this role will be responsible for partnering closely with our Card business teams (data producers and consumers) to establish optimal quality and monitoring of the organization’s most important data. This role will also have the opportunity to work closely with eData to drive current and future data management tooling options for Card and Capital One. This individual must possess a data management background as well as in-depth knowledge of processes, risks, and controls, demonstrate strong collaborative capability and a proven track record of building effective cross-functional partnerships and driving improvements preferably including automation. This role is ideal for someone with strong collaboration skills, who is capable of driving transformational change and delivering game-changing value. The preferred candidate will have experience working in Compliance and/or Risk Management organizations within a major financial company, with a solid understanding of process management frameworks, risk and control methodology, control testing methodology, and regulatory requirement management and applicability.\nResponsibilities:\nLead risk, governance, and compliance management activities for High Priority Data, including High Priority Usages (HPUs), Data Products, and Authoritative Sources.\n\nPartner directly with data producers and consumers to drive timely execution of appropriate data management, compliance, and governance activities.\n\nDesign, develop, and implement scalable routines, procedures, and repeatable processes to ensure consistent HPU risk management across the enterprise.\n\nDesign, develop, and continuously improve Card’s data management controls, while autonomously driving the process to evaluate control effectiveness in adherence with methodology.\n\nMaintain a strategic view of the control environment while driving enhancements.\n\nBuild relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders.\n\nDeliver key results and metrics across all data management areas of focus.\n\nBasic Qualifications:\nHigh School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification\n\nAt least 4 years of Compliance, Legal, Audit, or first or second line Risk Management experience in support of financial services, cyber, technology, or data management\n\nAt least 3 years of Project or Process Management experience\n\nAt least 3 years of experience supporting, partnering, and interacting with internal business clients\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nBachelor's Degree\n\n5+ years of Project Management experience leading cross-functional projects and programs in Risk\n\n5+ years of Compliance, Legal, Audit, or first or second line Risk Management experience\n\n3+ years of experience in reporting and analyzing data\n\nProfessional certifications within risk management and/or assurance: Certified Risk Management Professional, Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Risk Management Assurance (CRMA), or Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM)\n\nPMP, Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma certification\n\nAt this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.\nThe minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location.
