That’s why our team is seeking a Principal Associate, Sentry Shift Supervisor.\nThe Sentry Supervisor plays a key role in safeguarding Capital One’s people, customers, facilities, branches, cafes and assets. As part of Capital One’s 24/7/365 Security Operations Center (Sentry), this position leads a dedicated shift of teammates responsible for emergency response, alarm and event monitoring, incident detection, triage, and notification. This role provides support, guidance, training and accountability to the teammates they lead and assists in the identification and execution of Sentry processes and initiatives; this includes quality assurance responsibilities and ongoing reviews of existing processes. During real-time security or safety events, this role may take lead in facilitating cross-functional communications and/or working directly with the Enterprise Crisis Management team.\nThis position works rotating shifts that may include weekends, holidays, evenings and overnight shifts.\nDue to the critical nature of this position, this role is completely on site.\nThe Ideal Candidate Should:\nTailor clear, timely communications across cross-functional teams and senior leadership to align stakeholders and prevent rework\nBuild strong partner relationships, managing complex project deliverables around customer requirements and proactive communication\nServe as a natural peer leader who confidently offers opinions to shape operational solutions and drive execution outcomes\nApply specialized domain expertise to elevate team capabilities and deliver high-impact analytical products with minimal oversight\nNavigate ambiguity effectively, keeping an open mind to evaluate viewpoints and maintain focus on core priorities\nUphold corporate values with personal integrity and hold both self and team members accountable to those standards\nExcel in ambiguous environments by troubleshooting complex operational challenges and proposing turnkey solutions\nManage workload and bandwidth effectively to execute high-volume, high-visibility initiatives on schedule\nBuild constructive cross-functional relationships, break down silos, and proactively support peers through coverage and training\nHigh proficiency in Sentry operational processes, procedures, and resources\nKey Responsibilities:\nAct as people manager and development coach for Security Operations Specialists on shift and indirect manager of contract Watch Officers \nCollaborate effectively with other Sentry supervisors, ensuring knowledge sharing from shift to shift and managing schedules to ensure coverage across shifts and centers\nIn coordination with Sentry manager, create engagement opportunities for teammates across and within shifts (e.g. recognition events, volunteer/community impact experiences)\nReview and provide ongoing feedback on all aspects of Sentry training and engage in and develop learning opportunities and preparedness exercises\nComplete audits and quality assurance reviews of processes and procedures, in support of investigations or as directed by Sentry manager or risk/control partners\nContinuously look for ways to simplify and improve processes and escalate process gaps\nKeep abreast of current and emerging threats and trends across the Capital One footprint \nCoordinate communications and maintain critical system statuses in emergency situations; may facilitate cross-functional calls \nSupport project managers on new install and projects involving security monitoring, including testing of the systems \nSupport investigations of critical incidents across the Capital One footprint as directed\nMay proxy for the Sentry manager and/or support other shifts\nMay lead cross-team initiatives or participate in wider team workstreams \nOther administrative tasks as deemed necessary by Sentry manager\nThis position works rotating shifts that may include weekends, holidays, evenings and overnight shifts.\nBasic Qualifications:\nHigh School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification\nAt least 2 years of experience managing people in an emergency / security operations center, crisis or call center setting\nAt least 1 year of experience with Google for Business suite applications\nAt least 1 year of people leadership experience\nAt least 1 year of customer service experience \n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree, military experience \nAt least 3 years of experience managing people in an emergency / security operations center, crisis or call center setting\nAt least 1 year of experience with security technology systems and emergency communication operations\nAt least 1 year of experience in intelligence gathering, assessment and reporting\nAt this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.\nThe minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location.
