If so, opportunities for professional and personal fulfillment in a dynamic, progressive organization await you at Capital One!\nAs a Senior Accounting Associate, you will have dynamic accounting and reporting responsibilities associated with Capital One’s month-end close and reporting cycles, as well as opportunities to participate in projects for our growth oriented organization. We are looking for a collaborative candidate with excellent written and verbal communication and sharp problem solving skills. You will assist in the compilation of reports and analysis to support management review of financial results and local reporting requirements.\nGeneral Responsibilities:\nPrepare monthly financial performance analysis related to monthly results and interface with Business partners for additional insight on performance trends.\nUnderstand contractual arrangements with partner relationships and administer the financial and accounting implications of the contract.\nPerform monthly, quarterly, annual accounting processes and close responsibilities (journal entry recording, reconciliations, period over period balance change analyses, etc.).\nEnsure accounting practices and documentation procedures are performed in accordance with accounting and governance policies and procedures.\nIdentify and deliver process improvements.\nPrepare and monitor VAT tax journal entries and assist in the preparation of monthly VAT tax reporting.\nReview documentation of purchase orders, vendor invoices and expense allocation for multi-currency operations.\nPrepare monthly account reconciliations of fixed assets, leases, prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, accounts payable, payroll expenses and other, depending on business needs.\nAssist in the preparation of inter-company journal entries, invoice preparation and account reconciliations.\nAssist in the preparation and review of the annual financial statements, Electronic Statutory Balances and preparation of tax returns.\nReview supporting documentation to substantiate information included in deliverables.\nResearch bookkeeping and disclosure requirements to ensure the appropriate application of the Mexican GAAP.\nAssist in external audit coordination and internal audit reviews.\nSupport internal controls and attestation compliance requirements.\nCreate and own timely updates of Standard Operating Procedures.\nParticipate in special projects and ad-hoc requests as they arise, such as technology and data transformation, process improvement and business initiatives.\nCollaborate with internal and external partners to resolve issues and stay connected on process or product changes.\nCommunicate effectively with colleagues and external contacts on routine work-related matters in English and Spanish.\nBasic Qualifications:\nBachelor Degree or Military Experience\nAt least 2 years of accounting, finance or audit experience, or a combination\nIntermediate-Advanced English fluency\nPreferred Qualifications:\nMaster’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA).\nCertified Public Accountant (CPA) license or Local equivalent.\nAt least 3 years of Accounting experience in banking or insurance industry.\nAt least 2 years of experience in Payroll, Fixed Assets, Leases, VAT and Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations.\nAt least 1 year of experience in PeopleSoft General Ledger, Hyperion Essbase, Excel or MS Office, or a combination.\nAt Capital One, we respect individual differences in culture, religion, and ethnicity.
