Join us in powering North America!\nYour Opportunity\nOne Permanent Full-Time Position.\nWe are a fast-growing organization that is focused on sustainable growth, committed to a low-carbon future, and believes in innovation.\nWe seek an innovative and motivated individual who is eager to work as part of a Team at our Arlington Valley Facility!\nReporting to the Operations Manager, as the Operations & Maintenance Technician, you will work as part of a three-person crew on a 12-hour rotating shift, assigned as a Power Block Operator or Water Treatment Operator, responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a 580MW Combined Cycle Power Plant under the supervision and direction of a Shift Lead/Control Room Operator. The Operator may be asked to provide relief duties for the Control Room Operator (if qualified), Outside Operator, and/or Water Treatment Facility Operator as required. The Operator must be able to work with others and assist in Overtime for other shifts as required.\nYou will contribute to our team by:\nEnsuring the safe operation of all plant equipment throughout various operational situations. This equipment includes, but is not limited to the gas turbine, steam turbine, generators, heat recovery steam generator, air compressors, water treatment equipment, demineralizers, motors, pumps, fire suppression systems, and all other balance of plant auxiliary equipment.\nReading meters, gauges, or automatic devices to record data such as temperature of equipment, vibration of equipment, hours of operation, pressure, & fluid levels, and water chemistry to verify operating conditions.\nBeing able to Start, Stop, and manipulate equipment as directed.\nPerforming Chemical offloads in accordance with written procedures.\nCommunicating issues or non-routine items to the Control Room Operator and applying excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills to help resolve issues.\nPerforming plant equipment Lock out Tag out program as directed.\nMaintaining operational consistency across other crews and departments.\nEnsuring compliance with all local, State, and Federal regulations, as well as Corporate and Site-specific procedures to protect employees, contractors, community, and the environment.\nWorking under limited supervision.\nPerforming Preventative Maintenance as directed, and logging performance into Computerized Maintenance Management System (Maximo).\nMaintaining strong relationships with all crews and departments.\nOperating heavy equipment such as a manlift and forklift as required.\nPerforming general housekeeping and continuous improvement of the appearance of the facility as directed.\nProviding on-the-job skills training to others in complex technical areas as required.\nWhat you will bring to the role:\nEducation:\nCompleted High School Diploma required.\nTechnical training related to the role is preferred. \nExperience and Skills:\nExperience as an Operator in a power plant is preferred. \nExperience as a Control Room Operator for Combined Cycle Plants is desirable.\nExperience in water chemistry control, analysis of water conditions, water treatment facility operations, and chemical handling requirements is preferred.\nTheoretical and practical knowledge of combustion/steam turbine operations closed system steam generation, industrial safety, hazardous waste management and inspection/recording of plant parameters is highly desirable.\nExperience with piping and instrument schematics and process control is desirable.\nExtensive working knowledge of the power plant industry is desirable.\nTechnical Skills:\nSolid ability to solve equipment, systems, and safety issues.\nGas Power Plant Operation and Maintenance experience.\nAble to problem solve and troubleshoot operating issues at Gas Power Plant.\nMust be able to communicate effectively with co-workers and help foster a positive team environment.\nWorking Conditions:\nHeavy industrial facility designated as a safety-sensitive location.\nPhysical mobility, including lifting and climbing, and ability to use PPE required.\nRotating Shift Work required.\nWorking Outside.\nAdditional Details\nThis position will remain open until a suitable candidate is found.\nAs this is a safety sensitive position, clearance of a pre-employment drug test is required, subject to applicable law.\nTo be considered for this role, you must be legally eligible to work in the United States of America.\nThe successful candidate for this position will undergo an education verification, reference checks, and criminal record check.\nCapital Power employees that refer a successful candidate for this position are eligible for a $1000 Referral Reward!\nWe believe that creating a culture that supports employees' physical, mental, financial, and social well-being is critical to our success.
