Then Capital Power’s Arlington Valley plant is the place for you!\nThis position is more than just daily engineering. You will also help power your little corner of the world! Furthermore, you’ll have the opportunity to work on innovative and complex projects.\nReporting to the Plant Manager, our Plant Engineer will apply their technical expertise to support the plant’s operation while partnering with multifunctional teams. The position will also aim to optimize the plant’s performance and longevity.\nYou will contribute to our team by:\nMonitoring Plant performance and heat balance for continual output and efficiency improvements.\nReviewing, understanding, applying, and developing internal engineering guidelines, procedures, and standards at the site level in coordination with corporate Engineering teams as required.\nContributing to project planning and execution through all phases including front end input as well as post implementation support.\nWorking collaboratively with corporate Engineering team members and building strong relationships with other work groups to integrate sound Asset Engineering practices into both the day-to-day and long-term efforts of Capital Power.\nActing as site NERC Compliance Officer, to include reporting and interfacing with the Capital Power Compliance Team as well as external stakeholders.\nOwning the Management of Change program at the site level.\nProviding O&M feedback to the engineering group to advance the creation of effective solutions to facility issues.\nEvaluating the economic benefits of proposed technical solutions and providing recommendations of alternate solutions.\nRecommending and implementing safe and effective engineering solutions relating to plant emissions, control systems, equipment failure, equipment optimization, etc.\nImproving technical and management skillset through formal and informal training opportunities.\nWhat you will bring to the role\nEducation\nCompleted Engineering Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Process or other closely related engineering fields.\nExperience and Technical Skills\n3 years of dedicated engineering experience in an operating plant setting.
