Join us in powering North America!\nYour Opportunity\n2 Permanent Full Time Positions\nReporting to the Senior Lead, Taxation, the Tax Advisor will support the tax team in preparing complex tax returns, tax provision and related reporting requirements.\nYou will contribute to our team by:\nPreparing complex U.S. and/or Canadian tax compliance filings, including income tax, indirect tax, and other tax information reporting.\nPreparing complex U.S. and/or Canadian tax provisions and related financial statement note disclosures.\nPreparing U.S. and/or Canadian tax payment and instalment calculations and supporting longer-term tax forecasting and planning estimates.\nAssisting with responses to U.S. and/or Canadian Tax Authority information requests.\nAssisting with tax software administration, including routine maintenance, data integrity, and process improvements.\nRunning Oracle reports and queries to support tax compliance, reporting, and analysis.\nAssisting with tax research, planning initiatives, and tax other projects as required\nWhat you will bring to the role:\nEducation\nDegree or Diploma in Business, Finance or Accounting\nCPA Professional Accounting Designation\nExperience\nEnrollment in the Canadian In-Depth Tax Program and/or 1-3 years of relevant tax education and/or experience\n1-3+ years of tax experience in a corporate, public practice, or comparable finance environment and 3+ years accounting experience. \nTechnical Skills\nExperience preparing tax returns and provisions, with a solid understanding of tax compliance requirements.\nStrong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting and related controls.\nDemonstrated ability to work with financial systems, reporting tools, and accounting technology.\nHigh attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.\nWorking Conditions:\nHybrid office environment\nAdditional Details\nThis position will remain open until a suitable candidate is found.\nTo be considered for this role you must be legally eligible to work in Canada.\nThe successful candidate for this position will undergo an education verification, reference checks and criminal record check.\nCapital Power employees that refer a successful candidate for this position are eligible for a $1000 Referral Reward!\nWe believe that creating a culture that supports employee physical, mental, financial, and social wellbeing is critical to our success.
