This role exists to close the gap between business intent and technical delivery. The Senior Data Solutions Analyst designs and delivers enterprise-grade data solutions that solve complex business problems, while embedding governance, controls and scalability from the ground up. This goes beyond reporting and analysis — the role shapes how data flows, how it is validated and how it is used across the organisation. The role serves as a bridge between business, operations, Client Domain and technology teams — supporting root cause identification, solution design, remediation initiatives and the translation of business requirements into technical outcomes.\n\nSpecifically, the role exists to:\n\nSupport ongoing data quality and remediation initiatives\n\nDrive stop-the-bleed and root cause resolution activities\n\nImprove alignment between business requirements and technology delivery\n\nReduce dependency on technical teams for requirements clarification and solution design\n\nProvide dedicated support to the Stellenbosch-based functions\n\nWhat you'll do\n\rThis role operates across two dimensions:\n\n70% — Data Solutions Analyst\n\nGather and translate business requirements into technical solution designs\n\nDesign data flows, data models and enterprise data solutions\n\nWork across Data Engineers, Architects, Modellers and business stakeholders\n\nOwn testing, validation and data quality assurance\n\nEmbed governance, metadata, lineage and quality controls into every solution\n\nInfluence both business and technical direction\n\n30% — Data Analyst\n\nApply SQL proficiency to support root cause analysis and data profiling\n\nIdentify trends, patterns and data quality issues\n\nMake data accessible and meaningful to stakeholders — transforming it into actionable insights that support strategic decision-making and drive business performance1\n\nSupport strategic decision-making with clear reporting and visualisation\n\nIn practice, you'll:\n\nDefine how a Client Data Standards platform should work\n\nDesign data flows feeding data quality monitoring\n\nTranslate compliance requirements into data controls\n\nDefine remediation solution requirements — and work with engineers to build them\n\nSet testing and sign-off criteria\n\nGovern data definitions and metrics across the organisation\n\nWhat sets you apart\n\nThe team is not just looking for technical skills. Technology\r\nKnowledge and Experience\n\rMinimum:\n\nAt least 8 years of experience in data analysis or data solutions, with a significant portion in financial services or banking\n\n8-10+ years of experience translating business needs into technical solutions, with deep expertise in data architecture (including warehousing and Lakehouse), SQL, data modeling, ETL, and data analysis—combined with strong cross-functional collaboration and leadership in delivering high-quality, cloud-based data solutions.\n\nIncluding at least 5 years of leadership and mentoring experience, including guiding Communities of Practice, conducting industry research, and promoting continuous learning\n\nProven track record leading large-scale data analysis or data solutions projects and driving measurable business impact\n\nMastery of advanced data analysis tools — SQL, Python, R, Tableau and Power BI\n\nExperience with machine learning algorithms and their application in predictive analytics\n\nAligning data solutions with business strategy and goals\n\nProviding data-driven recommendations to senior management and influencing decision-making\n\nLeading and mentoring less experienced analysts and data teams — knowledge sharing and training\n\nOverseeing adherence to industry regulations and compliance requirements in the analytics space\n\nMarket analysis and understanding of economic factors affecting the business\n\nKnowledge\n\nExpert mastery in SQL — query optimisation, database design and ETL processes\n\nExpertise in designing and implementing
