We're changing that – building cover that's more affordable, transparent and simple, with an application process that takes less than 10 minutes and requires no medical tests.\n\nThe technology making that possible needs to be just as bold. That's where you come in.\nWe need a senior Salesforce developer who can take ownership of the platform that powers Funeral Cover, Life Cover and Credit Insurance for millions of South Africans – and help us build what comes next.\nWhat you'll do here\n\rYou'll work on a platform that manages the full insurance lifecycle – from quote to claim – at scale, for real clients who depend on it.\nSpecifically, you'll:\n\n• Lead Salesforce architectural decisions across our Insurance platform\n• Build and extend capabilities for policy lifecycle management, claims processing and client relationship management\n• Design and implement integrations across policy administration, claims intake, adjudication and payment processing\n• Build and maintain complex Apex logic, Lightning Web Components and Salesforce Flows that drive our insurance operations\n• Ensure our platform scales reliably as our insurance business grows – across Life Cover, Funeral Cover and Credit Insurance\n• Mentor junior and intermediate developers on the team\n• Drive development standards and engineering best practices within the Salesforce space\n• Evaluate and introduce Salesforce capabilities that move our Insurance platform forward\nYour tech stack\n\r• Salesforce Financial Services Cloud – our insurance platform foundation\n• Apex, LWC, Salesforce Flow – how we build and extend the platform\n• REST/SOAP APIs, Platform Events, Change Data Capture – how we integrate\n• Java – your back-end foundation, directly transferable here\n• Salesforce DX & CLI – source-driven development and deployment pipelines\nWhat you bring\n\rExperience\n\n6+ years of software development experience, with meaningful Salesforce platform exposure\n\nBack-end development experience in Java or similar object-oriented languages, considered a strong foundation for Salesforce development\n\nA track record of designing and delivering complex Salesforce solutions end-to-end\n\nExperience working in regulated or financial services environments is a strong advantage\n\nThe ability to explain technical decisions clearly – to engineers, architects and business stakeholders\n\nA genuine interest in growing the engineers around you\n\nEducation\n\nMinimum: Grade 12 National Certificate\n\nPreferred: A relevant tertiary qualification in information technology\n\nCertifications\n\nRequired: Salesforce Platform Developer I\n\nPreferred: Salesforce Platform Developer II, Salesforce Administrator, or Salesforce Financial Services Cloud accreditation\n\nKnowledge\n\nYou can apply expert-level knowledge and develop others' understanding across:\n\nApex programming – triggers, service classes, batch Apex, queueable Apex and scheduled Apex\n\nLightning Web Components – component structure, data connectivity, cross-component communication and Lightning Design System\n\nSalesforce Flow – record-triggered flows, screen flows, scheduled flows and auto-launched flows\n\nSOQL and SOSL – efficient querying, governor limit management and multi-object data retrieval\n\nInsurance-specific data modelling – policies, claims, coverages, participants and financial transactions\n\nAPI integration – REST and SOAP services, Named Credentials, OAuth 2.0 and external system authentication\n\nApex test class design – unit tests, integration tests and bulk operation tests with meaningful coverage\n\nIT systems development processes (SDLC) and version control\n\nWhat's in it for you\n\rThis is where senior Salesforce developers do some of their most meaningful work.\n\nReal platform ownership – in a business that's growing fast\n\nOur insurance business is still in its early days, with a three-year growth plan and a significant demand pipeline ahead.
