Your work will include preparing timely financial reports, reconciling general ledger accounts, analyzing financial statements, and managing budget development and adjustments. By ensuring programs are accurately budgeted, accounted for, and reconciled, you’ll help maximize CAPSLO’s ability to serve families and individuals throughout the community.\nWhat we're looking for in the ideal candidate:\nAccountant II:\nHas a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related field.\nHas a minimum of five years experience in accounting.\nHas a minimum of five years of experience in developing program budgets, forecasting, handling budget revisions, and managing grant cost allocations.\nHas experience with accounts payable, receivables, financial statement analysis, and bank reconciliations. \nAs an Accountant You Will:\nFinancial Reporting & Analysis\nPrepare monthly financial reports and recurring journal entries.\nConduct monthly meetings with Program Directors and the CFO to review financials.\nAnalyze balance sheet, revenue, and expense accounts; investigate and report significant variances.\nMake timely adjustments to financial statements and ensure compliance with funding terms.\nDistribute financial reports to program staff and funding sources.\nPrepare annual departmental and grant budgets with Program Directors.\nCompile monthly and annual fiscal summaries for Finance Committee review.\nGrant & Contract Administration\nMaintain agency-wide grant/contract listings and reporting schedules.\nOversee contract files and abstracts.\nPrepare billing for reimbursement and financial reports for programs including Energy, Health, Homeless Services, Food, Head Start, Migrant & Seasonal Head Start, and State Child Development.\nMaintain cross-program knowledge to provide coverage as needed.\nFixed Assets & Banking\nEnsure asset safeguarding and compliance with GAAP and funding requirements.\nMaintain the Fixed Asset ledger and calculate quarterly depreciation.\nReconcile general ledger cash accounts with bank statements, including voids, charges, and transfers.\nAdditional Responsibilities\nAccountant II handles a larger portfolio, provides detailed fiscal analysis and forecasting, mentors junior staff, and delivers fiscal training to program teams.\nAssist in preparing audit schedules and annual indirect revenue estimates.\nCode cash receipts and approve daily expenditure vouchers.\nUphold CAPSLO’s mission, strategic goals, and safety standards.\nPlease note this job advertisement is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
