The Area Manager plays a key role in maintaining program integrity, compliance, and excellence across all service areas, with a focus on meeting the unique needs of low-income and migrant communities.\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or a closely related field \n6 semester units in Administration and 2 in Adult Supervision \nMinimum five years of preschool teaching experience, including two years of staff supervision \nChild Development Site Supervisor Permit required; must obtain Program Director Permit within six months of employment\nStrong knowledge of bilingual/multicultural education, child development, and federal/state regulations\nExcellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills\nMust have valid California driver license, a currently DMV driving report, and proof of insurance.\nAs an Area Manager you will:\nSupervises Center Supervisors, FCC Coordinators, and Home Base Teachers.\nEnsures compliance with Head Start, State, licensing, and CAPSLO policies.\nCoordinates with program leadership and specialists across service areas.\nManages hiring, training, evaluation, and documentation for staff.\nMaintains staff credentials, permits, and licensing requirements.\nAssists in budget development for State and Head Start programs.\nMonitors program earnings and expenditures.\nImplements fiscal reporting systems and supports audit processes.\nDesigns and coordinates staff training and onboarding.\nMaintains Staff Development Plan and supports educational goals.\nEnsures compliance with continuing education and licensing standards.\nDevelops annual educational plan for staff.\nParticipates in Parent Policy Council and ensures parent representation.\nPromotes parent advocacy at all levels.\nConducts site visits and reviews lesson plans and child assessments.\nEnsures facility standards and supports maintenance needs.\nTracks enrollment and supports CACFP monitoring.\nPlans staff and parent training programs.\nSupports annual self-assessment and grant development.\nPlease note this job advertisement is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
