This hands-on position requires strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform all duties of an application technician, including maintaining and operating specialized spray equipment. If you thrive in a technical, fast-paced environment and take pride in craftsmanship, this role is for you!\nMinimum Requirements:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required; additional college coursework, including chemistry, is preferred.\n\nMinimum of 1-3 years of laboratory experience, or a combination of relevant education and laboratory experience.\n\nMust successfully pass a Jaeger Eye Test.\n\nPhysical Requirements:\nAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and utilize personal protective equipment.\n\nMust pass annual respirator medical evaluation and pulmonary function test per OSHA standards; respirator use required at least 40% of the time.\n\nComfortable working with a variety of chemicals and materials, including epoxies, fiberglass, zincs, urethanes, phenolics, coal tars, polyurethanes, isocyanates, and more.\n\nSkilled in operating, repairing, and maintaining equipment requiring strong hand-eye coordination, including airless pumps, sandblasting tools, welding equipment, and power saws.\n\nEssential Functions:\nLead the way in mastering surface preparation and application techniques for intumescent and cementitious fireproofing products.\n\nDrive hands-on excellence by setting up and operating spray equipment for in-house demonstrations, training sessions, evaluations, and special projects.\n\nGuarantee top-tier quality by ensuring all panels meet rigorous standards outlined in the Applications Department Quality Control Procedures Manual.\n\nKeep operations running smoothly through proactive maintenance and repair of spray equipment, spray booths, blast cabinets, pin welders, and hand/power tools.\n\nRepresent Carboline in the field with short-term travel for demonstrations, training, troubleshooting, and sales support.\n\nOperate and optimize mixing equipment, airless and conventional spray systems, and other tools to deliver flawless product applications.\n\nApply expertise in interpreting surface preparation standards and showcasing inspection techniques.\n\nCollaborate on innovation by assisting with evaluations of new or revised products and equipment.\n\nOwn the process of managing panel orders from Sales Representatives and Technical Service teams, including scheduling and shipping.\n\nEnsure readiness by ordering and stocking materials and supplies for seamless department operations.\n\nChampion safety and cleanliness by maintaining a hazard-free work environment and adhering to all safety and environmental regulations.\n\nBe proactive in risk management through hazard recognition, injury prevention, and prompt incident reporting.\n\nProtect the environment by following all hazardous material and waste management guidelines.\n\nStay compliant and informed by completing annual RCRA Hazardous Waste and Contingency Plan training and applying this knowledge daily.\n\nLead by example in promoting Carboline’s commitment to safety and quality programs.\n\nWho We Are:\nCarboline is a St. Louis-based coatings manufacturer with a global reach.
