We work in a dynamic environment and thrive on tackling rewarding and complex problems as a team.\nPosition Scope\nThe Process Engineer Co-op (OPS) is responsible for supporting engineering and operating activites at Carbon Engineering’s Innovation Centre. The role collaborates with the engineering and production team to support improvements to process units, execution test campaign, data analysis, and plant troubleshooting.\nThis position is an 8-12 month co-op starting September 2026. \nThis position is on-site and based in Squamish, BC.\nRelocation support is provided, including first 4 weeks company paid accommodation\nThis position pays $22-26/hour. \nHealth, Safety and Environment\nDemonstrate a positive safety culture. \nIdentify, report and resolve unsafe conditions, processes or actions within the workplace. \nEnsure that all safety related incidents, accidents and near misses are reported and investigated in line with company policy. \nTechnical\nProcess Troubleshooting and Continuous Improvement.Support the production and engineering teams to troubleshoot plant issues through a combination of in field assessments, reviewing of drawing and documentation, review of plant data.\nContribute to non-conformance system for all process upsets and deviations from operating intentions to support continuous improvement.\nPerform event investigations and generate suggest actions to avoid process deviances in the future.\n\nSupport Operational Execution of test campaigns.Support communication of test campaign objectives and results with Production team\nSupport activities to ensure plant readiness and plant performance is suitable for test campaigns.\nSupport activities to improve oversight and maintenance of plant performance (development of dashboards and trends).\n\nProcess and Engineering DocumentationSupport the development and maintenance of SOPs.\nMoCs - Support the execution of plant modifications through participation in the MoC process.\nEngineering documents - Support the updating and accuracy of our engineering drawings.\n\nData Analysis and Report GenerationCollect and assimilate plant data and lab results.\nReview plant data and analyze system performance against the test campaign objectives.\nDocument results, analysis and interpretation of plant performance into technical reports, presentations and other communications.\n\nEducation and Experience\nEducation:\nCurrently enrolled in Canadian post secondary institute (2nd,3rd, or 4th year)\nPreference to candidates in a relevant BEng program (Chemical, Process, Systems, Mechanical)\nExperience:Motivated curiosity and mechanical aptitude.\nAbility to work in all weather conditions and noisy work environment. \nSafe handling of chemical products is required.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nThrive on doing things that have not been done before (explorer mindset). \nKey Competencies:\nComfortable in a chemical/plant environment\nStrong understanding of core engineering principles (thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, fluid dynamics)\nThrive on doing things that have not been done before (explorer mindset).\n\nJoining Carbon Engineering provides you more than a career - it’s a calling for those who are ready to make a difference in climate action.
