Principal Data&AI Architects are expected to provide deep business and technical expertise with focus on Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning including Data Governance and Compliance. Principal Data&AI Architects are expected to have strong general business acumen, enabling them to confidently discuss every stage of the technology adoption cycle with stakeholders ranging from the CEO down to individual contributors and should be able to bridge technical solutions to measurable business outcomes—such as revenue growth, operational efficiencies, or improved customer experiences.\nOpsGuru Principal Data&AI Architects are assigned to several strategic accounts and are expected to work with their clients to become trusted technical advisors. Our Principal Architects are thought leaders and are able to guide and challenge clients in a respectful manner to ensure they receive the highest level of value from their technology investments.\nPrincipal Architects are expected to have experience participating in the sales process, typically in a pre-sales or equivalent capacity. They will work alongside our Account Executives and Presales Architects to scope and provide SME support on creating statements of work for our clients and will be heavily involved in account management.\nPrincipal Architects may also be required to act as team leaders and people managers for architects and engineers, and could require ~10% of your time working to support and develop a team of direct reports.\nQualification & SkillsTechnical and Consulting:The ideal candidate applying for the Principal Data&AI Architect Role has the following:\n\n7+ years of experience delivering Professional Services on major cloud providers (Amazon Web Services - must, Google Cloud or Microsoft Azure - nice to have) focusing on the following programs (3 minimum):\nLarge Scale workload migrations (on prem to cloud, cloud to cloud)\n\nEnterprise Data Platform modernisation\n\nModern, large scale Lakehouse Implementations\n\nData Security, Governance and Compliance\n\nMachine Learning and/or Artificial Intelligence Implementations\n\nTechnological Exposure:\nPrevious hands on experience with AWS (Must) , Azure / Google Cloud (Nice to have)\n\nPython for Data Analytics\n\nRelational databases design, tuning and migration\n\nExperience with Enterprise Data Warehouses \n\nData Lakes, Data Pipelines and ETL’s\n\nStream & Batch Processing with frameworks like Spark\n\nData modeling for both transactional and analytics\n\nBI Dashboards & Data Visualizations\n\nData Quality gates, Data Lineage, Data Catalogue\n\nExperience with Machine Learning and MLOps Frameworks (ex: Sagemaker)\n\nExperience with Generative AI, Agentic AI and foundational models \n\n10+ years of experience in a relevant Information Technology environment\n\nA history of delivering presentations to a wide ranging audience including CxO,VP, Director level executives\n\nA history of managing multiple complex projects with a wide variety of stakeholders ,simultaneously\n\nTechnical Pre-Sales experience with the ability to provide strong SME guidance in customer-facing sales and presales conversations.\n\nAble to confidently model costs and explain the total cost of ownership model of a proposed solution.\n\nA history of holding a budget and is able to model project costs and provide resourcing plans\n\nA history of handling customer requests and escalations and is able to are expected to provide deep business and technical expertis across Data Analytics, Data Processing, Data Governance & AI & ML areas.\nAs part of the role you will:\nReport directly to OpsGuru Engineering Leadership.\n\nConfidently discuss every stage of the technology adoption cycle all the way from the CEO to the developer, across multiple technical domains.\n\nAssigned to a number of expert, as appropriate\n\nGuide and challenge clients in a respectful manner to ensure they receive the highest level of value from their technology investments.\n\nProvide oversight to project teams to ensure technical outcomes align to solving customer business problems within project budgets and timelines\n\nWork with Engagement Managers to help manage project scope, and work with project teams and customers to help manage project expectations and delivery quality\n\nComfortably discuss budget considerations and ROI with stakeholders, ensuring clients understand how recommended technologies align with financial and strategic goals\n\nParticipate in the sales process, typically in a pre-sales or equivalent capacity.\n\nWork alongside our Account Executives and Presales Architects to scope and provide support on creating statements of works for our clients, as well as being heavily involved in account management.\n\nWhile this role is largely focused around technical and consulting based delivery directly with customers, the Principal Data&AI Architect may also be required to act as a people manager for a team of several direct reports of Architects and Engineers. This would include tasks such as having regular one-to-one meetings, having professional development and goal setting conversations, and acting as part of a communication and feedback system with your direct team.
