This role works within established architecture and engineering standards while taking ownership of assigned pipelines, data models, and technical deliverables. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with SQL, data integration, data modeling, and cloud-based data platforms, and can collaborate effectively with senior engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, well-documented solutions.\nThis position is an 8-month contract role and a hybrid model with two days reporting to our head office in Vaughan, Ontario.\nFor more information on what it is like to work for us, please watch our Cardinal Health - Wings\nYour Contributions to the Organization will be:\nDevelop, maintain, and support reliable data pipelines that extract, transform, and load data from multiple source systems into the data warehouse, including appropriate validation, error handling, and monitoring\nBuild and maintain scalable data models that apply established modeling standards and promote data consistency, accuracy, performance, and accessibility\nAutomate recurring data-processing activities and improve the efficiency of existing workflows\nPartner with analysts and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions\nCollaborate across business, analytics, source-system, and engineering teams to perform source-to-target analysis, document transformation rules and data lineage, reconcile results, and identify the root causes of data discrepancies\nWrite, test, and optimize SQL queries, transformations, and data-processing logic\nApply established data security, privacy, governance, and compliance standards\nMonitor data pipelines, investigate failures and data-quality issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions with guidance on complex issues when needed\nCreate and maintain technical documentation for data assets, processes, dependencies, and operational procedures\nParticipate in code reviews, testing, deployment activities, and continuous improvement of data engineering practices\nundefined\nThis Job might be for you if:\n Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, preferred\n5+ years of experience in data engineering, data integration, SQL development, or a related technical field, preferred\nStrong SQL skills and experience developing, testing, and troubleshooting data transformations\nWorking knowledge of data warehousing concepts, dimensional data modeling, and ETL or ELT processes\nExperience developing or supporting data solutions on at least one cloud-based data platform, such as Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, or Microsoft Azure\nExperience using version control and participating in structured development, testing, and deployment practices\nAbility to analyze data issues, identify root causes, and implement practical solutions\nEffective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams\nAbility to manage assigned work independently while seeking guidance on complex or ambiguous problems\nExperience with Python or another programming language used for data processing, automation, testing, or integration\nExperience using AI-assisted development tools responsibly to support activities such as code generation, documentation, testing, troubleshooting, or technical research, with appropriate validation of generated outputs \nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, or comparable cloud data technologies\nExperience supporting business intelligence tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI\nExperience integrating, modeling, or preparing data for process mining platforms such as Celonis or similar solutions\nExperience working with SAP data structures, master and transactional data, and enterprise business processes\nExposure to data orchestration, data quality, metadata management, or CI/CD practices\nKnowledge of machine learning, generative AI, agentic AI, and the data architectures needed to support emerging analytics use cases\nExperience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, distribution, supply chain, or commercial analytics environments \nAnticipated pay range: $89,400 - $119,300\nBonus: No\nPosition currently vacant: Yes\nThe salary range listed is an estimate.
