You will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the office. You are responsible for managing appointments, coordinating patient inquiries, maintaining accurate records, and assisting in various administrative tasks.\nWhat you’ll do:\nOversee front desk operations of the cardiology practice\n\nWarmly greet patients and visitors as they arrive\n\nAssist with the check-in process, verifying patient information and insurance details\n\nManage the appointment calendar using scheduling software, ensuring optimal time utilization and minimizing patient wait times\n\nCoordinate appointments for new and returning patients and reschedule or cancel them when needed\n\nAnswer incoming phone calls and respond to emails in a courteous and professional manner\n\nAddress patient inquiries, provide information about services, and assist with prescription refill requests\n\nCollect and update patient demographic and insurance information accurately\n\nVerify insurance coverage and ensure necessary documentation is complete\n\nMaintain and update patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality\n\nOrganize and file medical documents, test results, and correspondence\n\nKeep the waiting area clean and organized, ensuring patients are comfortable while waiting\n\nMonitor the flow of patients in the waiting area and inform medical staff of any delays or emergencies\n\nEnter patient information, appointments, and other relevant data into the office's electronic health records (EHR) system to maintain accurate and up to date records\n\nWork closely with medical staff, nurses, and other administrative personnel to ensure a seamless patient experience\n\nMaintain patient confidentiality and adhere to privacy regulations, such as HIPAA\n\nHandle patient concerns and complaints in a professional and empathetic manner\n\nWhat you’ll need:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent; additional education or medical office certification is a plus\n\nProven experience as a receptionist or in a customer service role, preferably in a healthcare setting\n\nFamiliarity with medical terminology and procedures\n\nStrong interpersonal and communication skills\n\nProficiency in using scheduling software, electronic health records (EHR) systems, and basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Office)\n\nExcellent organizational skills and attention to detail\n\nAbility to multitask and handle a fast-paced environment\n\nEmpathetic and patient-focused approach\n\nProfessional appearance and demeanor\n\nAthena experience preferred\n\nAdditional Information\nFull-time hourly rate of $20 per hour plus medical, dental, and vision benefits.
