You’ll partner with engineers, product managers, and cross-functional teams to deliver impactful features and improve performance.\nWhat You’ll Be Working On\n Lead AI initiatives end to end, from identifying the opportunity and designing the solution through delivery, measurement, and iteration\nBuild, maintain, and enhance high-volume, scalable backend systems\nContribute to the evolution of our platform, including breaking down monolithic components into microservices\nPartner with product managers to translate business requirements into technical solutions\nCollaborate with internal teams to design, implement, and improve services\nWrite clean, maintainable, and well-tested code\nParticipate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback\nSupport production systems, troubleshoot issues, and improve reliability\nWork with QA to ensure high-quality releases\nContinuously identify opportunities to improve system performance and developer experience\nBuild systems that use data and AI to improve search relevance and matching quality\n 5-7+ years of professional software engineering experience\nProven experience using AI/ML in production (or applying AI tools and LLMs to real products) and driving those initiatives from start to finish\nDemonstrated ownership: comfortable taking ambiguous problems and driving them to measurable outcomes\nStrong experience with Java, Spring (Boot, MVC, Security), Kafka, Docker, SQL, and Hibernate\nExperience building backend services using microservices architecture and designing scalable, distributed systems\nStrong fundamentals in APIs, data modeling, and system design\nExperience with relational and/or NoSQL databases and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)\nExperience with caching (e.g., Elasticache) and search technologies (Solr / Elasticsearch)\nHands-on experience with AWS services (e.g., S3, Lambda, Step Functions, CDK, KMS)\nFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins) and modern development practices\nAbility to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment\nNice to Have\nFull stack experience (e.g., React, TypeScript) and the ability to deliver features across the stack\nExperience with GraphQL, Kubernetes, gRPC, or modern observability tools\nFamiliarity with Go or Node.js\nExperience with DynamoDB or other NoSQL solutions\n Company Overview: Available in more than 20 countries, Care.com is the world's leading platform for finding and managing high-quality family care.
