Job Summary\nThe purpose of the Commodity Supervisor’s position is to supervise/monitor/inspect the warehouses, distribution centers and provide managerial and supportive supervision to the storekeepers and food distributers. S/he ensures that the food allocations (receipt, storage/handling, distribution and reporting) are managed in line with CARE and Donor agreed procedures and policies. S/he also monitors that the allocations received are as per agreement and monitors stock levels in accordance with agreed dispatch and distribution plans. \nII. Responsibilities\nJob Responsibility #1 Staff Management (30%)\nSupervise the activities of the food distributors and storekeepers based in the woredas FDPS and warehouses\nEnsure staff APPAs include KPIs which are continuously monitored and measured against progress\nEnsure that APAAs (annual and semi- annual) are completed in a timely manner and submitted to HR. \nJob Responsibility #2: Technical and Commodity management Support (35%)\nSupervise and coordinate daily activities of personnel engaged in the receipt, storage, and distribution of food commodities.\nConduct distribution monitoring and end use check to ensure that the commodity allocation is distributed as per the minimum standard and reached the intended beneficiaries.\nEnsure that the commodity allocations are received are per the authorized amount\nEnsure that the commodity receipt, dispatch, storage/handling, distribution and commodity loss management are conducted as per the donor and CARE commodity management policies\nEnsure that all storekeepers comply with the food commodity inventory management procedures and CARE/doner commodity management guideline\nSupervise the distribution process to ensure it is handled as per the recommended distribution mechanism and track the distribution using agreed/doner software\nConduct scheduled and ad hoc warehouse visits\nAnalyze and determine minimum and maximum stock levels of food commodity considering the warehouse capacity at FDPs in consultation with the Team leader and commodity manager\nJob Responsibility #3: Planning, Monitoring and Reporting (30%)\nEnsure that sufficient food stocks are dispatched to the warehouses / FDPs as per the dispatch and distribution plan\nMaintain records of empty containers register and files as per the doner requirement\nReconcile commodity balance with the store records\nEnsure that distribution/payments are carried out according to plan\nPerform periodic physical inventories and provide reports to the FO Team leader \nReview daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly commodity reports from storekeepers and compile by FDP, Woreda, and report to the Field Office Team Leader and Commodity Manager.\nReview daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly distribution reports from distributers and compile by FDP, woreda and report to the FO Team Leader and Commodity Manager (HO).\nJob Responsibility #4: Other (5%)\nPerform other duties as assigned\nRequirements\nEducation\nBA degree in Accounting, Supply Chain Management, International Development,\nExperience\n3 years of relevant experience with the first degree.\n2 years of relevant experience plus post graduate degree. \nNGO experience is a plus.\nSupervisory skills are mandatory for supervisory positions\nSkills Required\nbasic supervisory/managerial skills\nTechnical and report writing skills\nComputer literate\nGood communication and interpersonal skills\nHow to apply\nIf you are interested to be part of our dynamic team, exciting work environment and contribute to CARE Ethiopia’s mission and vision, please send your CV (not more than 3 pages) and cover letter (not more than one page) through ethiojobs.\n Only short-listed candidates will be contacted.\nMake sure you indicate the position title and location in your application letter.\nPassionate and dedicated candidates who meet the requirement are strongly encouraged to apply, especially women!\nCARE seeks to improve the lives of the most marginalized, particularly women and girls.
