Our culture and our products reflect that.\n We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Pricing and Growth engineering team. You will manage a full-stack team of 10 to 12 engineers who build the systems that decide what families and caregivers pay, how we package and present our offerings, and how we measure what works. This is a growth role: your team's output is judged by its effect on conversion, revenue and retention.\nThe role has high visibility. You will work directly with senior executives, explain technical tradeoffs in business terms, and turn experiment results into decisions. You will also stay close to the code and the tech stack, so you can guide architecture and review technical work.\nWhat You Will Do\nLead a team of 10 to 12 full stack engineers responsible for pricing, packaging, promotions and growth experiences across our web and mobile products.\nSet the technical roadmap for pricing and growth with Product, Finance, Marketing and Data partners, and tie each priority to a measurable business outcome.\nPresent strategy, progress and results to executives, including tradeoffs, risks and the expected return on engineering investment.\nStay hands-on: review code and designs, help debug production issues, and contribute directly when the team needs it.\nBuild and run an experimentation practice that includes A/B testing, feature flags, clear success metrics and guardrails, so the team can ship pricing changes quickly and read the results with confidence.\nDesign and maintain the services that hold pricing rules, plans, discounts and promotions, and make sure they stay accurate, auditable and consistent with billing and payments systems.\nPartner with Finance and Compliance so pricing changes meet regulatory, tax and financial reporting requirements.\nWork with architects to break up legacy platform components and move core pricing capabilities to an event-driven architecture.\nChampion engineering best practices across the domain, including observability, testing, performance, scalability and security.\nRecruit, mentor and develop engineers, and build a team culture of ownership, collaboration and continuous improvement.\nOversee on-call practices, SLAs and incident management to keep the platform resilient and available.\n 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.\n3+ years leading engineering teams as an Engineering Manager or Team Lead, including experience managing a large team or multiple teams.\nA track record of delivering growth, pricing, monetization, subscription or checkout work in a consumer-facing product.\nExperience running experiments and using data to decide what to build next.\nStrong hands-on technical skills across the full stack, and enough familiarity with our stack to take part in design and code review. Experience with Java or Golang is required.\nExperience with AWS and microservices architecture is a plus.\nWorking knowledge of billing and payment systems, and of payment security and compliance such as PCI-DSS, is a plus.\nProven ability to communicate with executives and cross-functional leaders, and to explain technical decisions in terms of business impact.\nExperience delivering large-scale, consumer-facing systems in a fast-paced environment.\nA demonstrated ability to recruit, inspire and grow engineering talent.\n Location: Austin or Dallas Texas candidates are highly preferred; we are hybrid, MW&T in office\n Company Overview: Available in more than 20 countries, Care.com is the world's leading platform for finding and managing high-quality family care. The base salary range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the national salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance.
