This role is to build a conversational medication companion for older adults in Taiwan, with summaries that improve continuity of care.\nWhat You'll Build\nA medication workflow that explains what older adults take, why, and what conflicts to watch for.\nA voice-friendly or chat-based Traditional Chinese interface designed for lower-digital-literacy users.\nCaregiver and clinician views that turn medication, symptom, and adherence logs into useful summaries.\nA safe triage and clinic-routing workflow that fits Taiwanese care patterns and can expand into broader chronic-care coordination.\nWhat You'll Do\nOwn the product across conversational experience, medication logic, patient and caregiver workflows, integrations, and deployment.\nDesign for trust, clarity, and low-friction use by older adults rather than assuming power-user behavior.\nDecide where GenAI adds value and where deterministic safety checks should dominate.\nWork with patients, caregivers, and clinicians to learn where the product reduces confusion and where it creates risk.\nWork with AI Fund's build team on wedge selection, local market fit, and what could become a durable chronic-care platform.\nWhat You Need\nStrong product engineering experience in health technology, messaging, or conversational systems.\nDemonstrated experience building GenAI systems for safe summarization, voice or chat interfaces, retrieval, evals, and guardrails.\nStrong UX judgment under trust and accessibility constraints, especially for older or lower-digital-literacy users.\nThe ability to build both patient-facing simplicity and caregiver or clinician-facing structure.\nYou know how to use AI coding assistants and modern AI tools to move quickly without losing safety judgment.\nMandarin fluency and the ability to work on-site in Taipei for the duration of the residency.\nHelpful But Not Required\nExperience in medication management, care coordination, elder care, or chronic-disease support products.\nExperience with speech interfaces, multilingual UX, LINE, WhatsApp, or family-sharing workflows.\nFounder or founding engineer experience in consumer health or workflow-heavy products.\nWho This Is For\nA builder who wants to work on a hard, human problem where clarity and trust matter more than novelty.\nSomeone who can combine product empathy, technical depth, and operational realism in a healthcare product.\nWhat To Know Upfront\nThis is a 12-week, full-time, on-site residency in Taipei, Taiwan, and product decisions must fit local care workflows and patient expectations.\nNot every residency becomes a company. The goal is to pressure-test the idea quickly and honestly with real users and domain experts.\nYou will be building an AI Fund idea, not bringing your own startup idea into the program.\nThe process typically includes a Builder Event or equivalent working conversation, then a 48-hour Builder Challenge, then panel review with AI Fund build leadership.\nThe compensation is intentionally modest during the residency because the upside, if the idea works, is a founder-level role.\nCompensation\n$10,000/month for 12 weeks ($30,000 total). This is a contract role during the residency. If the build leads to a funded company, the next step is a founder-level role with meaningful equity upside.\nWe may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information.
