We strive to be a reliable and competitive partner in the markets in which we serve and to support our customers and suppliers at each stage of their expansion and development.\nGlencore Ltd, a US-based branch of Glencore AG, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Glencore International AG, where itemployees approximately 300people.\nApplication Support Analyst\nMain responsibilities:\nProvide front-line user support for Glencore trading and financial applications, applying best practice incident management processes\nPerform root cause analysis of issues, identify possible resolutions, and communicate with global IT organization to coordinate back-end technical support and initiate change management requests\nAssist in testing problem resolutions as well as major product releases\nParticipate in UAT with the relevant IT product teams and business stakeholders\nManage user access to Glencore trading and financial applications, understand roles and permissions, and help conduct access reviews\nContribute to knowledge base by documenting and communicating issues, resolutions, and enhancements\nProfile:\nEnergetic and enthusiastic quick learner, able to learn independently to gain the required level of understanding and become ‘subject matter expert’ in specific areas\nAble to ‘dig into’ a problem, drilling down into system functionality, analyzing patterns, coming up with scenarios to prove assumptions\nThriving in customer-facing, high-pressure environments, able to handle multiple important requests and issues coming concurrently, assess urgency, prioritize, coordinate work, and follow-up until complete resolution\nGood time management and organization skills\nGood interpersonal and communication skills, must be able to listen, understand, translate, and update stakeholders at all levels in the user community and in IT\nTechnical skills, competencies and experience:\nExperience working within a commodities or financial trading environment (1 to 3 years)\nAbility to write SQL queries (Oracle, Sybase, SQL Plus) for troubleshooting, data analysis, and user assistance\nUnderstanding of core IT disciplines, specifically incident management, change management, business analysis and project management\nMinimum 5 years of relevant experience\nExperience with one or more of the following a plus:\nTrading and Risk Management systems in physical commodities\nExchange Trading Execution systems\nReporting Tools: Business Objects, PowerBI, Tableau\nPython\nRPA and low code/no code tools\nPosition:\nFull-time employee\nWorking closely with IT peers in London, and Baar (Switzerland)\nMember of the Application Support team in the US IT organization\nLocation: Glencore Ltd. Midtown Manhattan office, 90 Park Ave, 5 days per week\nCompensation: The expected base salary ranges from $130K -$150K. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered.
