Deputy/Assistant Director, Cross-Border Payments (2-year Contract)
[What the role is]
You will be part of a dynamic team that will drive the next generation of digital payment solutions and enhancement to Singapore’s national payment schemes through cross-border payments linkages with bilateral and multilateral partners, cementing Singapore’s position as a leader in shaping the regional payments landscape.[What you will be working on]
Cross-Border Payment Linkages - You will work with financial institutions, foreign regulators and international organisations to manage and expand Singapore’s cross-border payments connectivity network, ensuring their effective operation and continued development. This includes Singapore’s participation in Project Nexus, a multilateral cross-border payments connectivity project, where you will collaborate with internal teams and industry stakeholders on scheme governance, implementation and product development to support its go-to-market.
Policy and Governance - You will develop and refine relevant policies and frameworks for the governance and risk management of Singapore's cross-border linkages, including ongoing administration and scheme management.
Partnerships -You will build and maintain strategic relationships with key payment firms, foreign regulatory counterparts, and international agencies, with a focus on advancing cross-border payment initiatives and joint projects.
[What we are looking for]
Education and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a business, finance, technology or related field
Experience
Relevant experience in payments product development, public policy or payments regulations
Experience in transactional banking or payments or in developing and launching new financial products or services will be advantageous
Knowledge and Skills
Strong understanding of local and international payments systems and infrastructure, local and regional payments ecosystem and regulations
Effective communication skills and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to positively influence across all levels of internal and external stakeholders
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

You will be working in a fast-paced environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and needs of stakeholders, as well as the agility to respond to changes and developments.
