Community Engagement:\nDevelop and implement community outreach strategies to build relationships and enhance community involvement.\nOrganize and facilitate community meetings, forums, and events to gather input and feedback on City programs and initiatives.\nCollaborate with local organizations, businesses, and residents to promote City programs and services.\n2. Resident Support and Advocacy:\nServe as a primary point of contact for community members seeking assistance or information about City services.\nAddress and resolve concerns and complaints by coordinating with appropriate City departments and providing timely responses.\nAdvocate for residents' needs and ensure their voices are heard in city planning and decision-making processes.\n3. Program Development and Implementation:\nDesign and manage programs that address community needs, promote civic engagement, and enhance quality of life.\nMonitor program effectiveness and gather data to report on outcomes and impact.\nIdentify opportunities for new initiatives and partnerships to benefit the community.\n4. Communication and Information Dissemination:\nDevelop and distribute informational materials, newsletters, and updates to keep the community informed about City services, events, and initiatives.\nUtilize social media, the City website, and other digital platforms to engage with the community and promote City activities.\nMaintain accurate records of community interactions, feedback, and program participation.\n5. Collaboration and Coordination:\nWork closely with other City departments to ensure a coordinated approach to community services and problem-solving.\nParticipate in inter-departmental teams and task forces to address issues affecting the community.\nRepresent the City at public meetings, community events, and other forums as needed.\nMinimum Qualifications\nEducation and Experience : \nBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Public Administration, Social Work, Urban Planning, or a related field ; AND\nA minimum of three years of experience working community outreach, public engagement, or a related area. \n Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual or multilingual abilities.\nExperience working in local government or a similar public sector environment.\nKnowledge of the specific community dynamics of Greenville, N.C.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\nKnowledge of: \n• neighborhood improvement strategies, problem-solving, and conflict resolution techniques, and urban planning principles; \n• laws, legal codes, government regulations and ordinances. \nSkill in: \n• research and analyze facts while exercising sound judgment in arriving at conclusions. \n• organizing, prioritizing, and following through on multiple projects simultaneously without close supervision. \nAbility to: \n• learn the operations, policies, and procedures of the various City departments, and the location and characteristics of neighborhoods within the City. \n• display exceptional interpersonal skills. \n• prepare clear, concise, reports and recommendations; \n• operate a personal computer and related office technology; and \n• establish and maintain effective working relationships with property owners, residents, general public, and other City employees and officials. \nSpecial Requirements\nValid North Carolina drivers license\nAvailable to attend night and weekend meetings and community events across the City on a regular basis as needed.\nThe City of Greenville offers a comprehensive benefits package to all regular full-time employees including vacation, holiday, and sick leave as well as medical, dental, vision, life and short-term disability insurance.
