May develop menus as needed.\nOverseas and/or performs inventories of food stock and supplies and determines quantities of food and supplies required.\nCompiles order forms and requisitions food and supplies from vendors, shopping for quality and cost effectiveness. Ensures orders are within budgetary guidelines.\nReceives delivery of order and verifies for completeness and quality.\nMaintains kitchen logs and reporting forms in accordance with grant requirements and food handling techniques.\nCreate and maintain a supportive work environment with other departments and community programs, Public Health divisions, and Public Health leadership on accreditation domain while maintaining a culture of quality improvement.\nApply basic principles, practices, techniques, teaching, and communication methods related to the age, gender, race/ethnicity, educational level and socioeconomic status of community members.\nCommunicate and act in a culturally competent and professional manner maintaining cooperative relationships with community members, co-workers, and work contacts.\nMinimum Qualifications\nHigh School Diploma/GED (General Education Degree).\nThree (3) years' experience as a Cook involved with the preparation and delivery of meals in a large scale commercial or institutional operation or related facility.\nOR an equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the desired knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.\nSPECIAL JOB REQUIREMENT\nMust pass drug screen post offer.\n You must possess Food Safety Manager Certification within thirty (30) days of hire. \nMust possess a Mohave County Food Handler card within thirty (30) days of hire . \nMust pass the Arizona Department of Economic Security Central Registry Background Check.\nMust complete the Arizona Department of Economic Security Direct Service Position form and receive clearance to work prior to being hired.\nMust complete the Arizona Department of Economic Security Criminal History Self Disclosure Affidavit with no convictions that will preclude the issuance of a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.\nMust possess a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card from the Arizona Department of Public Safety or the ability to obtain one. Fingerprint application must be submitted within seven (7) days of hire. \nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities\nMethods, materials, and practices of institutional food preparation and service to include food temperatures, freezing, thawing, food portioning tools and controls, and storage.\nOperation and servicing of institutional-sized kitchen appliances, equipment and tools.\nFood preparation, dietary and nutritional requirements for seniors and other related guidelines.\nSafety hazards, practices, precautions and procedures related to institutional food preparation.\nHealth and sanitation requirements applicable to institutional food preparation and services.\nUse and care of equipment, tools, and materials used in food preparation.\nSafe and effective operation and servicing of appliances, equipment and tools used in food preparation.\nPreparing appropriate amounts of foods and baked goods based on menus and meal head counts in an institutional, commercial or related facility.\nCommunicating and maintaining professionalism with the public, co-workers, and work contacts.\nEffectively service, maintain and operate assigned appliances, equipment and tools in accordance with standard operating and safety procedures.\nDirect, instruct and train in the proper use and operation of appliances, equipment and tools and sharp, powered items to ensure safe precautions are utilized.\nFulfill physical requirements of work assignments requiring occasional -
