Documents quality findings in designated software programs and maintains quality data in order to provide quality metric reporting for supplier and manufacturing scorecards.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.\nPerform inspection and testing on parts received from external suppliers, in-line inspections in the manufacturing area, and outgoing inspections for product shipments. \nFollow Control Plans/Quality Inspection Plans to determine process/product conformance.\nReview non-conforming materials from value streams and document applicable information concerning the non-conformance on CAREL documentation. \nAssist with processing of products returned to CAREL on return material authorizations.\nFamiliarity with and ability to utilize various types of measuring and test equipment such as calipers, micrometers, etc.\nWorks with Assembly Operators and Manufacturing Engineers to affirm process controls are being adequately followed.\nGenerate inspection records, product statuses, and summarize data. \nBe fluent in computer software programs such as MS Word and Excel.\nFamiliarity with industrial manufacturing processes, including wave soldering, surface mount applications and mechanical type assembly.\nPerforms inspection on products (cables, circuit cards, assemblies, systems, etc.) manufactured for compliance to CAREL and customer drawings. Performs first piece inspections and audits as required. \nVerifies all required documentation. \nWorks with other Quality associates in the disposition of non-conforming material and in identification of defect trends in manufacturing processes. \nCompletes documentation of defects through data entry into company software platforms. \nSubmits products to source and/or customer inspectors as required. \nAssists in keeping the quality department compliant to ISO9001.\nReviews and reads drawings, specifications, and other technical documents to understand quality requirements of manufactured products. \nQUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS\n·High School education with 3 years technical experience working in a manufacturing environment.\n·Previous experience reading drawings, specifications and other technical documentation.\nLANGUAGE SKILLS\n·Good verbal and written skills.\nMATHEMATICAL SKILLS\n·Basic Math skills.\n·Some statistics a plus.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\n·Regularly sit or stand, reach, bend and move about.\n·Must be able to lift up to 30lbs.\nWORK ENVIRONMENT\n·Work environments include, but are not limited to Carel’s labs and manufacturing facilities, regional, national or international office, car, or airline flights\n·While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand or sit for long periods of time\n·The employee is occasionally required to walk, reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch.\n·The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
