This role performs general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, journal entries, month-end and year-end close activities, financial reporting, and financial analysis.\nThe Staff Accountant works closely with Finance, Billing, Revenue Cycle, Clinical Operations, Human Resources, and other administrative departments to ensure the accuracy of financial information, identify and resolve discrepancies, monitor financial performance, and support organizational goals. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, highly organized, and comfortable working with large volumes of financial data in a fast-paced healthcare environment.\nKey Responsibilities\nGeneral Ledger & Financial Accounting\nPrepare, review, and post accurate journal entries, including accruals, prepaid expenses, depreciation, payroll, revenue, and other routine and non-routine transactions.\nMaintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure completeness, accuracy, and proper classification of financial activity.\nPerform monthly bank, credit card, balance sheet, and other account reconciliations and investigate variances or unusual activity.\nSupport accounting activities related to patient service revenue, insurance reimbursements, contractual adjustments, refunds, and other healthcare revenue streams.\nDevelop an understanding of healthcare-specific financial processes, terminology, and reimbursement methodologies.\nResearch and resolve discrepancies, errors, and reconciling items in a timely manner.\nMaintain appropriate supporting documentation for all accounting transactions and adjustments.\nEnsure transactions are recorded in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and organizational accounting policies.\nMonth-End & Year-End Close\nSupport timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes.\nPrepare recurring and non-recurring journal entries and account analyses as part of the close process.\nReconcile balance sheet accounts and follow up on outstanding items.\nAssist in preparing month-end financial packages and management reporting.\nAnalyze actual results against budget, forecast, and prior-period results.\nMonitor healthcare-related revenue, expenses, departmental spending, and other key financial metrics.\nIdentify opportunities to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and consistency of the close process.\nQualifications & Skills\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.\n2-4 years of accounting experience;
