Our goal is to let truckers be truckers and shippers be shippers by simplifying the process for all our customers and vendors.\nCargomatic was named to the Built In Best Places to Work list, recognizing our people-first culture, strong benefits, and commitment to employee growth and well-being.\nAbout the Role\nWest End Express is seeking an experienced Customer Service Representative to support customers and daily drayage operations in the NY/NJ market.\nThis role requires someone who understands port drayage, customer requirements, terminal operations, and the importance of proactive scheduling and communication to avoid unnecessary per diem, storage, and other accessorial costs.\nThe CSR will work closely with customers, dispatch, and internal teams to ensure shipments are scheduled, tracked, and resolved efficiently.\nKey Responsibilities\nServe as the primary day-to-day customer contact for assigned accounts.\nCommunicate with customers regarding pickups, deliveries, appointments, delays, and shipment status.\nSchedule and coordinate deliveries and pickups with customers and dispatch.\nMonitor containers to ensure appointments and moves are completed within free time and avoid unnecessary per diem, storage, and detention charges.\nWork proactively with customers and dispatch to address potential service issues before they result in additional costs.\nCommunicate daily with dispatch regarding load status, appointment changes, driver issues, terminal conditions, and customer requirements.\nMaintain accurate and timely updates across multiple systems, including Trinium and other customer/operational platforms.\nDocument customer communications, scheduling changes, exceptions, and resolution activity.\nResearch and resolve shipment discrepancies and customer issues.\nFollow up on open issues until a clear resolution is reached.\nEscalate service or operational issues when necessary.\nQualifications\nA minimum 3 years of customer service experience in transportation, logistics, trucking, or drayage.\nA minimum 3 years of experience supporting NY/NJ port drayage operations.\nMinimum 1 year of hands-on Trinium experience required\nStrong understanding of NY/NJ terminals, appointments, container moves, per diem, storage, detention, and related drayage processes\nExperience working with multiple transportation and customer systems\nStrong communication and organizational skills\nExcellent follow-up and attention to detail\nAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities\nStrong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to customer service\nThe Ideal Candidate\nCandidate understands that strong customer service in drayage means staying ahead of the shipment, not reacting after there is a problem.\nYou are comfortable working directly with customers and dispatch, monitoring free time, identifying potential per diem exposure, and taking action to keep freight moving.\nWhat's In It for You\nCompetitive pay.\nMedical, dental, and vision benefits.\n401(k) company match.\nPaid time off (PTO) and paid holidays.\nJoin a high-growth company redefining logistics and supply chain!\nEqual Opportunity Employer\nCargomatic is an equal opportunity employer.
