Come join us for the ride!\nRole overview\nThe International team is seeking a talented and driven Software Engineer II to join CarGurus' first engineering team in Ireland and work on exciting product initiatives for our Canadian and UK markets. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the full software development lifecycle - across both the frontend and backend - collaborating with Engineering and Product peers to design innovative solutions and tackle complex challenges for our dealer-facing products.\nWe are looking for candidates who are able to learn and adapt quickly, and collaborate with other engineers to deliver solutions. Some examples of potential project opportunities:\nBuilding new, full-stack features for dealer products from the ground up\nIntegrating with existing services and expanding functionality using React, TypeScript, and Java\nImplementing integrations with third-party APIs and partners\nAs an engineer on this team, you will work closely with other engineers and product partners to deliver impactful solutions for the international business. No need to be a car expert-we’re more interested in your passion for engineering and your ability to innovate!\nWhat you'll do\nHelp establish and grow CarGurus' Dublin engineering presence by contributing to team culture, practices, and standards.\nCollaborate with engineers and product managers across the organization to understand and solve new product requirements and tackle technical challenges.\nWork with Java, Spring Boot, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, AWS, and other modern technologies to build consumer and dealer products.\nCollaborate on system design and write well-crafted code to help evolve our service-oriented architecture. \nBe deeply engaged in the full development lifecycle: designing, developing, testing, automated testing, deploying, maintaining, monitoring, and alerting.\nWhat you'll bring\n2-5 years of hands-on software development experience in a professional setting.\nExperience building full-stack applications with frameworks similar to Spring Boot, NextJS, Express, ASP.NET, Django, or Rails.\nAbility to write clean, well-tested, and efficient code that passes through code review with minimal comments. Additionally, you will engage with code reviews by giving and receiving feedback to ensure high-quality outcomes.\nThe ability to iterate and ship ideas quickly and independently.\nSelf-led and motivated to proactively find answers and resolve blockers.\nExperience leveraging AI tools.\nBonus: Experience using AWS services and knowledge of microservice architectures.\nThe displayed range represents the expected annual base salary / On-Target Earnings (OTE) for this position.
