This includes being directly responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and continuance of the facility safety, health policies, and procedures. Standard working hours are Monday- Friday 6:30 am- 3:00 pm with occasional overtime and weekend hours. \nDuties and Responsibilities:\nOversees the safety program and initiates steps that will improve the level of safety.\nReviews and updates the safety policies and procedures in accordance with Company goals and in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines. \nMakes sure all new employees are properly trained. \nReviews safety related documents and narratives such as Safety Committee minutes, inspection reports, forklift inspection checklist, accident investigation reports and near miss reports. \nMaintains the OSHA 300 logs. \nMaintains liaison between management and outside regulatory agencies in accordance with Company policy and statutory guidelines. \nChairs the safety committee. \nKeeps records of all employee training, corrections of unsafe conditions, dates and results of workplace inspections. \nSubmits necessary documentation to the corporate office for recordkeeping. \nMaintains all weekly, monthly, and yearly, safety inspections. \nMaintains all hazardous material and hazardous material area checks. \nMaintains the MSDS log book. \nRequired Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:\nEffective written and verbal communication skills. \nComputer operations skills. \nBasic mathematics skills. \nKnowledge of SAP. \nKnowledge of OSHA regulations and plant safety. \nKnowledge of CPR and First Aid. \nKnowledge of quality control. \nEducation and Experience: \nRequired:High School Diploma required\nThree Years of Safety Experience\nFirst Aid/CPR/AED certification\n\n Working Conditions:\nManufacturing Plant environment where the plants may be dirt, dusty, and hotter/colder than office settings.\nMonday - Friday; 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.\nOccasional overtime or weekends required.\nLimited travel for meetings. \nFrequency scale: Occasionally (0-30%) | Frequently (31-60%) | Continuously (61-100%)\nLIFTING OR CARRYING\n1-10 LBS - Frequently \n11-20 LBS - Frequently \n21-40 LBS - Frequently \n41-50 LBS -Frequently \n 51 OR MORE LBS - (not indicated) \nPUSHING OR PULLING:\n1-40 LBS - Occasionally \n41-50 LBS - Occasionally \n 51 OR MORE LBS - (not indicated) \nOTHER PHYSICAL DEMANDS:\nBENDING OR STOOPING - Occasionally \nREACHING ABOVE SHOULDER LEVEL - Occasionally \n DRIVING AUTOMATIC EQUIP.
