As an Operator you will be required to learn, understand and put into practice all our policies and procedures to help manufacture the highest quality products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will routinely perform your duties with minimal supervision, independently and in a team with another operator. You must be able to work in an environment with many distractions, maintaining a high level of accuracy and safety, while performing your duties. No travel is required for this position.\nExpected hours of work is Sunday - Friday; 7:00 am - 3:00 pm\nDuties and Responsibilities:\nSafely follow all applicable health and safety policies and procedures while ensuring your work area is clean & safe.\nControl one or more processing units or inter-related semi-automatic or automatic systems and setting up/adjusting packaging equipment.\nMonitor gauges, signals, scales, and observes products consistency for colour and viscosity.\nPerforms chemical or other physical testing during product processing\nBasic troubleshooting and routine maintenance of process equipment\nUtilize the scanning guns to complete timely and accurate inventory transactions.\nDemonstrate a sense of urgency in achieving results\nAny other duties assigned by lead hand and/or management\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nRequired Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:\nEffective written and verbal communication skills. \nMinimum Grade 12 education or equivalent \nMathematically skilled to operate in volumetric and mass calculations \nKnowledge of Spill clean-up and WHMIS/GIS procedures \nSome experience using hazardous, flammable and explosive materials. \nKnowledge of how to use/follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). \nPrior forklift experience is a plus. \nFlexibility to work overtime, evenings or nights. \nAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and possess effective written and oral communication skills \nCapable of lifting 50lbs. \nPersonal Protective Equipment (PPE) Used: \nEye and hearing protection is always required on the production floor. \nSafety shoes (steel/composite) on the production floor. \nOther PPE as defined by management within assigned department. \nEducation and Experience: \nHigh School Diploma or GED is Preferred \nMust be at least 18 years of age or older. \nPrior experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.\n Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:\nSelf-starter and be able to work with little direct supervision\nPrevious experience in a production environment\nEffective communication skills\nMust have reliable transportation\nMust be dependable and have a good attendance record\nPrevious experience safely operating a forklift\nFlexible to work overtime, as needed\nEducation and Experience: \nHigh School Diploma or GED is Preferred\nMust be at least 18 years of age or older.\nPrior experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.\nCarlisle is committed to providing accessible employment practices that are in compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act(‘AODA’).
