The instructor delivers high-quality culinary arts instruction that accommodates diverse educational backgrounds, learning styles, and English language proficiency levels. This role combines classroom instruction, student assessment, curriculum implementation, and administrative responsibilities to ensure student success and program excellence.\nCORE WORKSTREAMS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nInstruction and Curriculum Delivery\nTeach and demonstrate basic culinary methods and advanced cooking techniques within the Culinary Arts curriculum.\n\nDeliver engaging instruction that supports diverse learning styles and abilities.\n\nImplement established curriculum and syllabi while developing instructional materials aligned with assigned course levels.\n\nSelect appropriate instructional resources and textbooks.\n\nPrepare clear and concise daily lesson plans with measurable learning objectives.\n\nCreate and maintain a positive learning environment for adult learners.\n\nImplement classroom policies and procedures consistently.\n\nEncourage active student participation and regular attendance.\n\nStudent Assessment and Academic Progress\nMonitor and evaluate student performance.\n\nMaintain grade records and student progress reports.\n\nUse formal and informal student performance data to inform instruction.\n\nModify instructional methods based on student learning needs and outcomes.\n\nSupport students in achieving academic and career readiness goals\n\nStudent Records and Program Administration\nTrack student attendance daily using class rosters and the Student Information System (SIS).\n\nMaintain student tracking forms and related program records.\n\nRecord student scores and academic outcomes accurately.\n\nComplete required documentation and administrative reporting.\n\nSupport timecard and attendance-related processes as required\n\nCollaboration and Student Engagement\nFoster teamwork and collaboration within the classroom.\n\nEstablish positive relationships with students and colleagues.\n\nDemonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills.\n\nCollaborate with instructional teams to support student success and program objectives.\n\nPrioritize responsibilities effectively to meet instructional and operational goals.\n\nOther duties as assigned\nWHAT YOU’ll BRING:\nAdult Education & Instructional Excellence: Experience teaching and engaging adult learners with varying educational backgrounds and English language abilities.\n\nCurriculum Implementation: Ability to effectively implement curriculum, create lesson plans, and adapt instructional strategies to support student achievement.\n\nAssessment & Data Management: Skilled in evaluating student performance, maintaining accurate records, and using data to inform instructional decisions.\n\nCommunication & Relationship Building: Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with students, colleagues, and stakeholders.\n\nCommitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB): Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment that reflects CRIPCS core values.\n\nOrganization & Time Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate records, and meet deadlines in a dynamic educational environment.\n\nEDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND OTHER EXPERIENCES\nServSafe Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) required.\n\nMinimum bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality or related field required\n\nMinimum three (3) years of culinary arts experience.\n\nAt least one (1) year in a leadership or administrative culinary role (e.g., Chef de Cuisine, Sous Chef, Executive Chef).\n\nPrior teaching experience preferred.\n\nExcellent oral and written communication skills in English.\n\nTHE SECTIONS BELOW WILL BE ADDED BY HR\nSALARY RANGE AND BENEFITS:\nWe offer:\nA competitive annual starting salary range of $45.30 an hour to $75.68 an hour commensurate with experience.\n\n46 total days of time off (a combination of paid holidays, sick, and personal time) per year.
