The role will focus on ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of systems, while driving automation, observability, and continuous improvement across the infrastructure stack.\nThe role requires close collaboration with global development teams to support deployments, troubleshoot complex issues, and optimize system performance. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on experience in Linux system administration (Ubuntu), AWS (EC2, S3), infrastructure automation and configuration management, along with proficiency in scripting (Bash/Python) and monitoring solutions. A strong mindset towards problem-solving, ownership, and maintaining high-availability and secure environments is essential.\nRoles and Responsibilities:\nInfrastructure & Systems Administration Maintain and support distributed systems, networks, and infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments, including day-to-day installation, configuration, and maintenance of server environments.\nCloud & Automation Assist with cloud infrastructure tasks, including compute, storage, cost monitoring, and security configuration. Use and maintain infrastructure automation for configuration management, provisioning, and patching under the guidance of senior engineers.\nMonitoring, Logging & Observability Contribute to monitoring, alerting, and logging across the infrastructure stack using appropriate monitoring, alerting and logging tools to ensure system health and visibility.\nIncident Response & Troubleshooting Perform troubleshooting and incident analysis at the network, OS, and application levels. Participate in on-call rotations and support incident response for production infrastructure.\nSecurity & Compliance Follow and apply security best practices across all systems, including vulnerability patching, access controls, and compliance with organizational security policies.\nDatabase & Messaging Systems Assist with routine administration of database, caching, search, and messaging systems.\nDevelopment, Backup & Documentation Contribute to the development and testing of new infrastructure requirements and backup strategies. Document current and future processes to maintain an up-to-date operational knowledge base.\nCross-Team Collaboration Work closely with development teams to provide infrastructure support and assist in resolving application-level issue.\nRequirements\n Technical Experience:\nWorking knowledge of AWS (or any other hyperscale), specifically EC2 and S3, including basic VPC networking and IAM concepts\nScripting skills in Bash and familiarity with Python for automation and operational tasks\nBasic understanding of cloud (AWS VPC) and local network administration including server-client infrastructures and common network protocols\nAwareness of security best practices (firewall management, SSH hardening, vulnerability scanning) and familiarity with high-availability concepts\nFamiliarity with monitoring, logging, and observability tooling (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, CloudWatch)\nExperience with Ansible for infrastructure automation and configuration management (preferred)\nKnowledge with documentation strategies\nBasic experience with PostgreSQL and exposure to other database or messaging systems such as MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Redis, Memcached, or RabbitMQ\nExperience with Git-based version control and collaborative workflows\nPreferred Qualifications:\nBS in Computer Science or equivalent considered an asset\nGood command of English\nCompleted apprenticeship in IT administration, computer science or any relevant field\nAWS certification (e.g. Cloud Practitioner, Solutions Architect Associate) considered an
