Carma was founded in 2021 with a bold vision to create the best way to buy and sell a pre-owned car in Australia. It wasn't long before the idea attracted multi-million dollar backing from investors, and Carma has grown exponentially ever since. We've sold thousands of cars and delighted countless customers, who love our innovative approach.

At Carma, we're more than just a car company-we're on a mission to shake up the Australian automotive industry! As a digital pre-owned car dealership, we're turning the car buying (and selling!) experience into a hassle-free, seamless journey that customers can truly enjoy. With our diverse and collaborative team managing everything from engineering to marketing and buying to reconditioning in-house, we're powered by the best people-and we'd love for you to come along for the ride!

As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, you'll play a key role in building the teams that keep Carma moving. You'll be responsible for delivering end-to-end recruitment across our corporate teams, partnering closely with hiring managers to understand their needs and finding the people who will help us deliver.

This is a hands-on, high-volume TA role where you'll balance speed and scale with a great candidate experience. From sourcing and screening to assessment centres, offers and talent pooling, you'll own your roles end-to-end while helping us continuously improve the way we recruit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end recruitment across Carma's automotive corporate teams, from job brief through to offer and pre-start.
  • Build and execute practical sourcing strategies across high-volume a variety of roles roles using job boards, direct sourcing, referrals, talent pools and other channels.
  • Source, attract and engage candidates, proactively building pipelines for recurring and hard-to-fill roles.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce requirements and translate them into clear recruitment briefs, job descriptions and compelling job advertisements.
  • Screen and assess candidates through CV review, phone screens, interviews, testing and other assessment methods.
  • Coordinate and support assessment centres, group interviews and high-volume recruitment campaigns.
  • Keep candidates engaged throughout the process, delivering a seamless experience that brings Carma's culture and values to life.
  • Provide hiring managers with market insight, candidate feedback and recruitment recommendations to support effective hiring decisions.
  • Build and maintain talent pools to create a more proactive and sustainable approach to recruitment.
  • Ensure Pinpoint, our ATS, is accurate and up to date throughout the recruitment lifecycle, from candidate data through to templates and forms.
  • Track recruitment activity and identify bottlenecks, trends and opportunities to improve hiring outcomes.
  • Work closely with the wider TA and People Experience team to improve recruitment processes, candidate experience, assessment and reporting.
  • Look for smarter ways to recruit, including leveraging technology, automation, AI and new sourcing channels to make our TA function more effective.
  • Be a true recruitment partner to your stakeholders-taking accountability, following up and closing the loop on every interaction.
  • Be hands-on when hiring volumes demand it, jumping into sourcing, screening, interviewing and recruitment campaigns to get the right people through the door.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Proven experience delivering end-to-end recruitment in a complex fast-paced scale-up environment.
  • A strong track record of managing high-volume recruitment while maintaining quality and candidate experience.
  • Confident sourcing and engaging candidates across multiple channels, with the ability to build talent pipelines rather than relying solely on applications.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with hiring managers and understand their recruitment needs.
  • Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities without losing momentum.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach-you're comfortable working at pace, getting stuck in and figuring things out when the path isn't always clear.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and building structure and better ways of working in a fast-growing environment.
  • Experience working with an ATS, recruitment platforms and other TA technology; Pinpoint experience would be advantageous.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, always looking for ways to make recruitment faster, simpler and better.
  • A genuine passion for people and creating a great candidate experience.
  • A true ambassador for Carma who brings energy, personality, perspective and our values to everything you do.

Job Benefits

  • Join one of Australia's fastest-growing automotive businesses and play a key role in building the teams behind our growth.
  • Make a tangible impact through high-volume recruitment across Carma's automotive production operations.
  • Work alongside passionate teams in a collaborative, high-growth environment where your ideas genuinely make an impact.
  • Get the opportunity to shape and improve how we recruit at scale-from sourcing and assessment through to candidate experience and talent pooling.
  • Our open-plan office comes fuelled with fresh coffee, a snack stash for any craving, and Friday rooftop drinks to keep your energy in the fast lane!
  • Sweet perks because, well, we're a car business-enjoy discounts on Carma cars, parts, and NRMA cover to rev up your ride!

At Carma, we're all about fostering an amazing culture where you can bring your best self to work. We value collaboration, innovation and having a laugh along the way. We're committed to diversity, inclusion and safe work practices, so no matter your background or experience (or car brand of choice!), we'd love to hear from you. Please let us know if you require any reasonable adjustments throughout the interview process.
