Gathers and provides input on functional specifications and requirements. Supports business user questions/issues regarding applications and/or systems issues and availability. Develops and maintains technical documentation. May perform other related technical support for the department or college.\nWork Experience Requirements:\n1 - 3 years of experience in software development, systems analysis, or application support\n\nDemonstrated experience in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining applications or systems\n\nExperience working with functional specifications, requirements gathering, and user needs analysis\n\nHands-on experience supporting production applications, troubleshooting system issues, and resolving user-reported problems\n\nExperience in creating and maintaining technical documentation (e.g., system design docs, user guides, SOPs)\n\nExperience working in a collaborative team environment, including cross-functional coordination with business stakeholders\n\nFamiliarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies (Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall)\n\nExperience with version control systems (e.g., Gitlab, Github)\n\nExperience in higher education, research administration systems, or academic IT environments\n\nFlexibility, excellence, and passion are vital qualities within Computing Services. We are looking for someone who shares our values and who will support the mission of the university through their work.\nRequired Minimum Experience: 1-3 Years\nProgramming in languages such as C#, JavaScript, Python or Java\n\nDeveloping web applications with HTML, JavaScript and CSS\n\nCreating efficient queries in a relational database using SQLExperience with cloud-native data management system to connect and transfer data from diverse sources (databases, SaaS apps, IoT) into data warehouses or lakes. (e.g., Informatica, Snowflake)\n\nDebugging and optimizing system performance using techniques specific to SaaS environments\n\nSupporting live/production systems and resolving incidents using incident tracking software (e.g., ServiceNow)\n\nProviding end-user technical support and issue resolution\n\nGathering business requirements from stakeholders or users and translating requirements into functional or technical specifications\n\nParticipating in system design discussions and solution planning\n\nJob Profile Responsibilities:\nDesign, develop, test, and maintain software applications and systems programs to meet business and technical requirements\n\nDevelop and maintain complex data integration systems to move data between multiple types of systems and databases\n\nFollow established coding standards, security practices, and development procedures\n\nPerforming unit, integration, and system testing\n\nSupporting user acceptance testing (UAT)\n\nAssist with implementation, upgrades, and patches of existing systems\n\nGathers and provides input on functional specifications and requirements\n\nCreating technical documentation, system diagrams, and user manuals\n\nPosition Specific Job Responsibilities:\n25% - Data systems and integrations\nCreate and maintain data integration pipelines between systems (e.g. Informatica)\n\nDevelop robust monitoring process for nightly and monthly integrations\n\n25% - Technical support for Center for Technology Transfer and Enterprise Creation (CTTEC)\nConfigure system UI, notifications and internal workflows\n\nDevelop custom reports and dashboards\n\n20% - System configuration in Next Generation Electronic Research Administration (Next Gen eRA)\nCreate custom UI attributes and notifications\n\nMeet with functional stakeholders to determine user feature requirements\n\n10% - Maintaining legacy modules\nCreate custom UI attributes, notifications and workflows\n\nMeet with functional stakeholders to determine user feature requirements\n\nUpgrade system versions when necessary\n\n10% - Data visualization and reporting\nDevelop custom ETL pipelines for reporting purposes (e.g. Snowflake, Informatica)\n\nDevelop custom reports in data visualization tool (e.g. PowerBI)\n\n10% - Research administration systems help desk technical point person\nWork directly with help desk person to efficiently triage help desk tickets.\n\nAct as technical point person to determine the appropriate solution and coordinate with other team members as necessary to quickly resolve issues.\n\nPhysical and Mental Requirements:\nIndicate which requirements are applicable to this job\n\nAbility to maintain composure when dealing with difficult situations and/or individuals\n\nAbility to meet deadlines, work under pressure and with frequent interruptions\n\nAbility to pay close attention to detail; keep and maintain accurate and detailed reports and records.\n\nAbility to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.\n\nAbility to understand and follow directions.\n\nAbility to work well with others and/or as part of a team.\n\nVisual acuity to perform activities such as extended use of a computer monitor, extensive reading, transcribing, analyzing data and figures, visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines, using measurement devices, and/or assembly of parts at distances close to the eye.\n\nDecision Making:\nDecisions generally affect own job or specific functional area.\n\nWorking Conditions:\nRequired to work in a normal office environment.\n\nRequired to work normal business hours; evening and weekend work may occasionally be required\n\nAccountability :\nAccountable for the successful completion of individual goals and priorities\n\nDirection:\nReceives little instruction on day-to-day work and receives general instructions on new assignments.\n\nSupervision:\nNot responsible for supervising others\n\nRequired Minimum Education:\nBachelor's Degree\n\nRequirements:\nSuccessful background check\n\nA combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.\nAre you interested in this exciting opportunity?!
