And as Safety Officer on board, you’ll make sure that it always stays that way.\nWhat you’ll be doing:\nActing as the most senior deck officer after the Staff Captain\nInvestigating all major and serious accidents and incidents\nManaging a small team of Deck Crew, leading the day-to-day planned maintenance of safety and emergency equipment\nMaintaining oversight of the shipboard emergency response organisation\nEnsuring all key emergency response positions are covered by suitably trained and certificated personnel\nRemaining fully competent as a watch keeping Officer\nSupplementing the Bridge watch and taking ‘the charge’ as needed\nWhat we’re looking for:\nA professional and calm leader, especially under pressure\nSomeone who leads by example and actively promotes a strong safety culture\nA leader who puts health and safety at the heart of all planning and decision-making\nTo join us as Safety Officer, you’ll need:\nA Master’s Unlimited (II/2) certificate with no limitations\nExperience in rank as Safety Officer\nStrong technical understanding of cruise ship operations\nIn-depth knowledge of health and safety rules and regulations\nExcellent leadership, communication, interpersonal and organisational skills\nExperience on board a cruise ship is essential.\nIn return we are able to offer a structured promotion programme, providing a visible pathway for your development, attractive company benefits as well as working as part of a huge operation not only within the deck department but with the wider ships company also.
