Notifies the Carol Woods Clinic and/or Nurse Coordinator of medication discrepancies or difficulties.\nOther Clinical Functions and Duties as needed:\nProvide routine geriatric health care services to residents in an assigned area based on the resident needs and preferences. \nProvide assistance with activities of daily living.\nProvide engagement to residents in a way that honors their preferences (such as reading, art, walking, puzzles, etc.)\nEncourage resident participation in Life Enrichment events.\nSupport Life Enrichment staff in gathering residents for events.\nObserve and report obvious physical or behavioral abnormalities or changes from what may be considered \"baseline\" for an individual resident.\nTaking and recording vital signs and other data regarding the resident’s physical and mental status.\nRecord resident care activities on proper documentation, using Electronic Health Record/Touchscreen\nUse proper infection control procedures to reduce the risk of infection, including hand washing, proper handling of soiled linen and trash, etc.\nAssist the resident with other restorative/rehabilitation activities started by PT, OT, and/or Speech Therapy\nParticipate in resident care/wellbeing planning.\nParticipate in peer reviews to monitor quality care issues.\nFiscal accountability, proper supply ordering and proper use/care of equipment\nCompletion of mandatory On-line educational modules (monthly and as otherwise assigned).\nAttendance at required educational sessions, in-services, and staff meetings.\nAttendance at annual Culture Day session (Full-time mandatory)\nInvolvement/understanding of Organizational Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) program.\nAll other duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nREQUIREMENTS:\nEducation:\nHS Diploma or GED\nNurse Aide I training program\nMedication Aide in Adult Care Home Training Program\nListing on the Nurse Aide I and Medication Aide registries through NCDHHS without substantiated findings\nCPR Certification, AHA or ARC, Adult Module\nExperience:\nExperience working with the elderly preferred.\n1-2 years’ experience in health care related field\nPhysical:\nAble to:Bend, stoop, squat, crawl reach, kneel and lift to assist residents using proper body mechanics for sustained periods of time.\nStand, walk for long periods.\nMove equipment or small pieces of furniture. \n\nCompetencies:\nCommunication\nConfidentiality\nJudgement\nOrganization\nProblem Solving/Decision Making\nTechnical/Function Expertise\nWorking Conditions:\nClimate controlled environment\nPotential for exposure to Communicable illnesses\nHazardous materials, e.g., cleaning chemicals\nBlood/blood products.\n\nBenefit position - Full-time position requires every other weekend scheduling commitment.
