If you're passionate about making a difference in this critical field, we invite you to explore a career with Carollo.\nResponsibilities\nThe Staff Professional will contribute to the development of the firm’s Infrastructure Master Planning group. Previous experience with either water or wastewater system planning/hydraulic modeling and related software is desired. An Engineer-in-Training Certification (EIT) is required with a minimum of two years of related experience. Candidates driven to progress their career towards a project engineer/assistant project manager role within the next 5 years with expanded client-facing duties and professional responsibilities are ideal.\nPerform engineering work in water and wastewater treatment and conveyance infrastructure. \nCreate computer models for water and wastewater systems. \nPerform hydraulic calculations and interpret water distribution system hydraulic evaluations utilizing a variety of commercial and open-source hydraulic modeling software programs. \nPerform water and wastewater impact studies using hydraulic models. \nPerform water and wastewater model calibration. \nAssist on water, wastewater, and stormwater engineering planning and design projects. \nPerform data entry, review and analysis in support of master planning projects. \nParticipate in field activities in support of master planning projects. \nSupport project engineers, and project managers with various tasks associated with water, wastewater, and stormwater master planning and modeling. \nPrepare technical memoranda, assist in writing master plan reports, and prepare electronic deliverables. \nManage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining accurate records of time spent on each task. \nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. \nEIT Certification or within 6-months of hire. \nStrong verbal and written communication skills. \nWork well in a team environment. \nHighly motivated, articulate, and self-starting. \nProficient in MS Word and Excel. \nMinimum academic requirements include coursework in physical, chemical, and biological processes; hydraulics; and principles of water and wastewater treatment plant and infrastructure design. \nPreferred Qualifications\nCustomer-oriented mindset is desired. \nMaster’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering is desired, but selection will be based on cumulative project experience and skillset. \nFamiliarity with codes and regulations related to drinking water and wastewater pollution control. \nAbility to process engineering calculations accurately with minimal oversight and assist in preparation of technical reports. \nExperience in building and calibrating water and wastewater hydraulic models is a plus. \nBasic experience with ESRI GIS tools is a plus. \nFamiliarity with computer applications including ArcGIS, CAD software, and water and sewer hydraulic modeling packages from Autodesk (Innovyze and XPSWMM), Bentley, EPANET, EPASWMM, or DHI Mike. \nThrives in a collaborative environment as well as able to work independently. \nExperience working on Sewer System Management Plans, Urban Water Management Plans, and Water Supply Assessments are a plus. \nExperience working on Storm Water Modeling and Master Plans is a plus. \nAbility to clearly and concisely summarize technical information using proper grammar, punctuation and spelling to communicate complex details effectively. \nFamiliarity or desire to expand skills in AI/ML and data science related scripting tools (e.g., R, Python, etc.) is a plus. \nFamiliarity or desire to expand skills in dynamic data visualization software such as PowerBI is a plus. \nActive participation in professional organizations, local and nationwide is a plus. \nCompensation Range\n$85,000 to $95,000 annually. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future.
