Carpenter’s Latrobe Specialty Metals operations, based in Latrobe, PA., was acquired by Carpenter Technology in 2012 and manufactures high-performance specialty alloys serving aerospace, energy and other demanding markets.\nEngineer III Controls\nPrimary Responsibilities for the Engineer III:\nDesign and Development:Identify and understand the company’s needs related to control systems.\nAnalyze data to identify areas for improvement.\nImplement solutions to enhance control system efficiency.\n\nTechnical Support and Mentorship:Provide technical support to team members.\nWork with maintenance to remedy breakdowns.\n\nSystem Configuration and Optimization:Configure, standardize, and optimize control systems for equipment and processes.\nDefine system requirements and participate in system configuration.\nAct as a liaison between end-users and system developers/OEM’s.\nEnsuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.\n\nProject Management:Develop and execute projects from start to finish, ensuring successful implementation. \nSupervise installation, testing, and commissioning of control systems.\nManage project costs, schedules, and budgets.\nDevelop business cases where automation and control upgrades can improve the thru-put and costs for a given work center or process.\n\nRequired for the Engineer III:\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.\n5+ years working in the controls and automation industry.\nPreferred for the Engineer III:\nExperience in the steel automation industry.\nProblem-solving.\nFamiliarity with engineering-related software.\nKnowledge of lean principles.\nKnowledge of PLC Programming. Familiarity with Rockwell and Siemens controllers.\nHMI development is required.
