This role is responsible for ensuring supplier compliance to quality requirements, conducting supplier audits and assessments, leading corrective action initiatives, and driving continuous improvement efforts throughout the supply base. The ideal candidate will possess strong quality systems knowledge, supplier management experience, and a passion for delivering high-quality products and processes in a manufacturing environment.\nWhat You'll Do:\nBuild strong relationships with suppliers to effectively communicate quality concerns and facilitate timely resolution of issues. \nConduct supplier audits and on-site assessments to evaluate manufacturing processes, quality systems, and compliance with applicable requirements. \nReview incoming products and services from suppliers to ensure conformance to specifications and quality standards. \nDevelop testing requirements and product assessments to identify and address quality concerns. \nLead root cause analysis and corrective action investigations related to supplier quality issues. \nAnalyze supplier performance metrics, defect trends, and deviations to identify improvement opportunities and reduce risk. \nDevelop and maintain Supplier Quality Manuals, Supplier Quality Clauses, and related documentation. \nEstablish and monitor supplier quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement. \nSupport supplier qualification activities, including supplier audits, assessments, and qualification package reviews. \nParticipate in supplier risk assessments and mitigation planning. \nDevelop, standardize, and maintain supplier quality procedures and standard operating practices. \nSupport customer, regulatory, and third-party audits involving supplier quality processes. \nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to improve process and product quality across the organization. \nPromote and maintain a safe work environment while adhering to all company policies and procedures. \nLead small projects and support special initiatives as assigned. \nTravel approximately 10-25%, including occasional international travel. \nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Engineering, Chemistry, Quality, or another related technical discipline. \nMinimum of five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing quality role, preferably as a Quality Engineer within the aerospace industry. \nWorking knowledge of quality management system requirements, including AS9100, ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 13485, and/or Nadcap standards. \nAdvanced knowledge of auditing principles and supplier quality management practices. \nExperience leading root cause analysis and corrective action activities utilizing established problem-solving methodologies. \nStrong analytical, statistical, and quality assurance skills. \nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, purchase orders, and technical documents. \nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications and quality-related software such as Minitab. \nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities effectively. \nExcellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams. \nPreferred Qualifications:\nAerospace manufacturing experience. \nCertified Supplier Quality Professional (CSQP) or other applicable quality certification. \nLean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma training or certification. \nExperience developing supplier quality programs, procedures, and performance metrics. \nExperience participating in customer, regulatory, or third-party quality audits. \nDemonstrated success driving continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment. \nCarpenter Technology Company offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package including life, medical, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, disability coverage, 401k with company contributions as well as many other options to employees.\nCarpenter Technology Corporation’s policy is to fully and effectively maintain a program of equal employment opportunity and nondiscrimination for all employees, to employ affirmative action for all protected classes, and to recruit and develop the best qualified persons available regardless of age, race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital status, national origin, political affiliation or any other characteristic protected by law.
