A machine operator 1 will be trained in a single role in the plant. Machine operator 1s may be assigned to any department or machine in the plant. Flexibility is expected and assignments may change if business conditions require it. Assigned responsibility could include machine operation or inspection. The position offers cross-training across related functions to enhance versatility and team collaboration. Advancement opportunities are available for those who demonstrate initiative, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous improvement.\nPRIMARY DUTIES\nRead and acknowledge the required work instructions for a single work center\n\nLocate and describe the usage of Standardized Work for a single work center\n\nProven ability to read and understand work instructions from work order or traveler\n\nLocate and demonstrate understanding of input and output tests\n\nExplain the escalation plan\n\nProven ability to identify a quality product applied to and produced at the assigned manufacturing process\n\nCommunicate with Team Lead, or previous shift operators to determine the status of the in-process work, machine conditions, and other work to be completed\n\nSet up manufacturing equipment, within standard time, using documented procedures, to produce quality products\n\nMaintain a clean and orderly work area in accordance with 6S standards\n\nSegregate trash material into proper receptacles (trash, recyclables, etc.)\n\nDemonstrated understanding of the operation of the manufacturing process in order to produce a quality product and to be proficient at machine operation\n\nAbility to observe machine operation to determine the accuracy of operation and make subsequent adjustments as required to produce quality products efficiently\n\nInforms Team Leader or Supervisor of any irregularities in material, equipment, procedures, etc. including advance notice of the need to replenish consumable wear parts\n\nResponsible for maintaining crew compliance with established operating procedures\n\nMaintain product and scrap identification\n\nRecords required information on forms and/or electronic I/O devices\n\nUnderstands how to find Work Order information using ERP system\n\nCommunicate with other crew members to overcome or correct problems as they occur\n\nAssist other operators as required during a downtime situation\n\nFamiliar with all process chemicals used in the work area and the safety standards for their use\n\nPerform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by Team Leader, Supervisor, or Manager.\n\nThese duties and responsibilities reflect the general details necessary to describe the principal functions of the Production jobs at Dynamet and shall not be interpreted as a detailed description of all work requirements that may be inherent in the job.\nREQUIREMENTS\nMust be a team player and communicate well with others.\nWill train!
