Shalmet was acquired by Carpenter Technology Corporation in 1997 and operates within the corporation’s Specialty Alloys Operations division.\n1 Position available - Fixed 3pm to 11pm (subject to change)\nLocation: Elyria, OH\nWage Range: Starting wage rate is $39.59 per hour with opportunities for advancement.\n$10,000 SIGN-ON BONUS (for external hires only)\nMaintenance Electrician candidates hired at Shalmet will receive $2,500 upon successful completion of 3 months of employment, an additional $2,500 upon successful completion of 6 months of employment, and an additional $5,000 upon successful completion of 9 months of employment. (Note: Maintenance trainee positions are not eligible for sign-on bonuses.)\nPer Policy: Unless approved by Management, employees are limited to successfully bid on no more than 2 positions in a 12-month period. Other bidding restrictions may apply.\nPrimary Duties:\nInspect, test, calibrate, repair, install, fabricate, construct, adjust, maintain, dismantle and clean all electrical equipment working in conjunction with other production and maintenance personnel.\nTroubleshoot and diagnose electrical, electro/mechanical problems\nSolder electrical or electronic connections or components\nInstall/repair outlets, light fixtures, and switches\nEnsure electrical systems are properly grounded\nProperly size conduits, motor starters, breakers and overloads\nBend and install rigid/EMT conduit\nOperate mobile equipment\nOperate overhead crane and follow movement of material\nUse required tools and equipment\nRequirements:\nA resume outlining qualifications and experience must be submitted to be considered for this position.\n Must pass testing for related trade.\nTechnical trade school, or related college field preferred. Two years industrial maintenance experience required.\nHigh School diploma or GED required.\nOvertime, if requested, is required. \nCandidates will be expected to gain additional qualifications to progress through the various levels of their skilled trade as described in associated Position Requirements Records.\nRead, write and understand instructions\nUse basic math for measuring and required calculations\nRead and interpret electrical blueprints/schematics\nPossess knowledge of:\nGeneral maintenance procedures\nGeneral safety procedures including ARC Flash, Lockout/Tagout, confined space, hot work permit, etc.\nHow to access, comprehend and apply the national electric code\nElectrical components and trade terminology\n480 Volt AC three phase systems\n120VAC & 24VDC control systems relating to industrial equipment\nControl systems relating to industrial equipment\nGeneral maintenance repairs for industrial equipment\nBasic computer skills\nBasic PLC’s\nWork order system\nDemonstrate proficiency to manipulate hand tools such as:\nMicrometers / dial calipers\nWrenches (including pipe) \nAllen wrenches\nConduit and pipe tools\nTesting equipment (volt meter, amp meter, megger, oscilloscope)\nWire and bolt cutters\nWire strippers and crimpers\nScrewdrivers\nDrill motors (anchor drills)\nGrinding equipment\nAchieve forklift, crane, high lift certifications\nComplete confined space training\nSelection Process:\nTo be considered, all candidates must submit a resume.\nMust pass testing for related trade.\nFor any internal candidates, the successful candidate will be chosen based on: skills and experience, current job performance, including attendance, and interview results. These criteria are evaluated by the completion of a Job Bid Assessment and Performance Review.
