Currently we have multiple pieces of equipment coming on line that will require some verification and technical support. Additionally, supporting Coarse Surface Grain, UT BR Loss/Noise, hooks/humps, and spiral are some of the projects currently needing a leader.\nOur Value Proposition -\nThis position will allow you to develop and build expertise in the following core skills:\nAdaptability - You will track, prioritize, and drive multiple concurrent projects to success, while working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\nProblem Solving - Develop your critical thinking and analytical skills to assess safety in the manufacturing environment, recommend solutions or next steps, and identify best practices to achieve the value of ZERO injuries. \nActive Learner- Ability and appetite to learn quickly is critical as you expand your knowledge and build your skill sets.\nCommunication - Create effective verbal and written communications in and across project teams. Organize and present results to small and large audiences throughout the organization.\nCollaboration - You will work closely with multiple departments and teams on the manufacturing floor, requiring strong partnership skills.\nWhat Do We Require?\nYou must be:\nCurrently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program majoring in Metallurgy or Materials Sciences.\nCandidates must be proficient in excel and meticulous in their work\nMinimum 3.0 GPA\nWilling and able to work on-site at our Athens, AL location.\nApplicants MUST be US Citizens or Green Card Holders due to Carpenter’s government contracts.\nPay Range\nHourly rates are based on: 1 - Program of study; 2 - Degree type (i.e., Bachelor’s); 3 - Progression in degree (i.e., 1st year, 2nd year, etc.). The range for this position is $21.00-$25.00 per hour.\nCommuting/Housing Assistance (If Eligible)\nInterns who must commute to work from outside the immediate Athens, AL area (over 50 miles one-way), will be paid a one-time lump sum payment of $2,400 (less applicable taxes) as excessive commute allowance. Interns who choose to temporarily relocate from outside the immediate Athens, AL area (moving over 50 miles one-way), will be paid a one-time lump sum payment of $4,800 (less applicable taxes) as a housing allowance.
