Our Tanner, AL location is an integrated mill manufacturing high qualitypremium and ultra-premium forged bar and billet products from melt to ship.\nTITLE: NDT QUALITY SPECIALIST IV\nPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE NDT QUALITYSPECIALISTIV\nDirect the proactive improvement of NDT and other processes and product quality at Carpenter to increase first time through (FTT) throughproject teams, using industry best practices.\n\nDirect the establishment of Critical toQuality measures (CTQ), Key Process Characteristics (KPC), Key Control Characteristics (KCC), control plans, and FMEA through project teams, using industry best practices.\n\nEffectively mentor NDT Level 1, 2, and 3s in appropriate qualitystrategies, tools, and techniques.\n\nProactively anticipateand identifyquality issues to reduce claims, remakes, scrap, and deviations from standard work toincrease customer satisfaction.\n\nDrive the improvement of critical work center Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) through project teams.\n\nEstablish and manage a framework for gathering and synthesizing data to effectively detect and solve quality issues to prevent recurrence using appropriate qualitystrategies, tools, and techniques using industry best practices.\n\nLead other NDT Level 3 personnel with complex NDT, inspection, measurement, and sampling methods.\n\nProactively identifyprocess improvement opportunities, stabilize NDT and other processesand implement statistical process controls (SPC) to establishand maintain process capability.\n\nMaster the most complex NDT, inspection, measurement and sampling methods and lead efforts for method improvements (MSA).\n\nProvides guidanceNDT Level 1, 2, and 3s with complex NDT, inspection, measurement, and sampling methods.\n\nLead the development of robust processes as part of the new product introduction (NPI) through project teams.\n\nDevelop training materials and provide training for NDT personnel on quality strategies, techniques, and tools.\n\nDevelop and oversee a program for preventative maintenance and calibration of productionNDT equipment.\n\nDirect the maintenance of records, logs, and other formal documentation requiredfor specific NDT calibrations, evaluations, and certifications.\n\nOversee the qualification program for nondestructive testing personnel and procedures.\n\nReview nondestructive testing specifications accompanying customer orders or inquiries and review specification abstracts.\n\nAssists NDT personnel in reviewing complex nondestructive testing specifications and specification abstracts.\n\nLead both internal and external audits of the Company’s quality program as itpertains to the application of NDT.\n\nPerform all other duties and special projects asassigned.\n\nREQUIRED FOR THE NDT QUALITY SPECIALIST IV\nHigh school diploma required,bachelor's degree preferred.\n\nASNT Level 3 Certification in ultrasonic inspection.\n\nMust obtain Carpenter Level 3 Certification within 6 months of hire date.\n\n6+ years of experience as an NDT Level 3 working in such a role.\n\nInterpret internal/external business issues and recommend best practices in ownfunction.
