Technology that supports the buildings and industry of today and tomorrow requires a wide range of talents and skill sets.\nAbout This Role\nAs an Associate Controls Engineer, you will be crucial to ALC’s business through the designing of building automation systems created specifically for each individual customer. We are looking for someone who works well in a team and has excellent problem-solving, time management, and multi-tasking skills. You will work to build new skills and advance existing skills while completing smaller projects on your own.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign and program building automation systems, site-specific configuration of control system, and control algorithms.\nAdhere to project requirements and company and customer standards of design, programming, and implementation.\nCreate a clear design document for project teams with technical information.\nDocument and communicate the building automation system design and revisions.\nDevelop graphical and text-based interfaces for building automation systems.\nTest programming and interfaces prior to implementation.\nProvide technical support to sales representatives to ensure customers’ needs are met.\nIdentify and communicate project opportunities and risks.\nSupport functional testing for building systems.\nRequired Qualifications\nHigh School Diploma or GED with 2+ years of HVAC, Controls or Building Automation experience OR Associate Degree in Engineering.\nAbility to travel up to 20%.\nPreferred Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering or construction discipline. \nExperience in HVAC controls, Building Automation, or related industry. \nBasic knowledge of primary functions of building automation system software and associated engineering tools, Automated Logic suites preferred. \nBasic knowledge of Automated Logic software, peripherals, add-ons, services, or hardware design. \nUnderstanding and/or experience with IP networks \nUnderstanding and/or experience with Microsoft Visio and/or similar software. \nAbility to understand written sequences of operations, diagrammatic depictions of systems. \nFamiliar with third-party communication protocols used in building automation, such as BACnet, Modbus, SNMP, LON, N2, etc. \nAble to translate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.\nCapable of climbing ladders or using other lift equipment over 8 feet above grade, and capable of lifting items up to 50lbs.\nPay Range\nThe annual salary for this position is between $53,000.00 - $106,000.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate. The pay range will not be below the minimum wage applicable to the jurisdiction in which the applicant is to be employed.Other Compensation\nThis position may be entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
