Responsibilities include maintenance, calibration, trouble shooting and repair, and design upgrades of compressor performance and reliability test stands. Ability to perform hands on work with mechanical and electrical systems including knowledge of best practices for piping systems to minimize restrictions and pressure drop as well as power and control system wiring per NEC (National Electric Code) and UL (Underwriters Laboratory) code compliance.\nKey Responsibilities\nPerform maintenance, trouble shooting and repair of calorimeter and reliability test stands.\nMaintain lab data acquisition computers installed on compressor test stands.\nMaintain and revise LabVIEW data acquisition software and PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) code for all test stands.\nManagement and storage of test data generated from compressor testing.\nCollaborate with compression engineering team to design and implement modifications and upgrades to existing test stands.\nGuide compression lab technicians in operation and calibration of test stands.\nMaintain and develop lab process standard work documentation.\nRequired Qualifications:\nAssociate’s degree in engineering or Engineering technology with 2+ years of HVAC/R systems experience.\nundefined\nBachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology.\nundefined\nPreferred Qualifications:\nDegree in Mechanical or Electromechanical Engineering\nExperience with HVAC/R systems including having or ability to get a universal certification EPA 608\nWorking knowledge of heat transfer, fluid and thermodynamics.\nWorking knowledge of electrical power, control and instrumentation systems.\nExperience with programming of National Instruments-LabVIEW data acquisition systems and knowledge of Allen-Bradley Programable Logic Controllers.\nExperience with single phase and three phase electrical power systems, VFDs, PLCs, PID Controls, transducers, flow meters, lab instrumentation and electrical test equipment including Yokogawa Power Analyzers.\nProficient PC skills including Microsoft office programs and ability to create schematics and diagrams using Visio or similar software.\nExcellent written and verbal communication, organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills are required.\nA portion of time will be spent working with and supporting the Engineering and Laboratory staff. \nIn addition to the responsibilities and requirements listed above, the person should be self-motivated and capable of working independently. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced changing environment is essential to succeed in this position.\nPay Range\nThe annual salary for this position is between $53,000.00 - $106,000.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
