Working closely with experienced engineers, the intern will gain hands-on experience in product development, laboratory testing, troubleshooting, sustaining engineering, and cost reduction initiatives while contributing to real-world commercial HVAC control projects. This position provides exposure to embedded controls, sensors, connectivity technologies, manufacturing support, and product lifecycle management.\nRole Responsibilities\nSupport electrical engineers in the design, development, and validation of commercial HVAC control products.\nAssist with laboratory testing, troubleshooting, and product validation activities.\nBuild, assemble, and modify prototype hardware, test fixtures, and evaluation platforms.\nConduct proof-of-concept experiments and document engineering test results.\nAssist in creating engineering documentation including test reports, Bills of Material (BOMs), specifications, drawings, and design records.\nSupport sustaining engineering activities for released products, including investigation of quality, manufacturing, supplier, and field issues.\nParticipate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities for product and process improvements.\nAssist with cost reduction and value engineering projects through component evaluations, alternate part qualification, and design optimization activities.\nSupport component obsolescence management by researching and validating replacement components.\nCollaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Supplier teams to implement product improvements.\nAssist with Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), documentation updates, and product release activities.\nCollect, organize, and analyze engineering data to support technical and business decisions.\nLearn and apply engineering best practices related to safety, reliability, regulatory compliance, and product development processes.\nPresent project findings, results, and recommendations to engineering teams.\nBasic Qualifications\nMust be currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.\nMust have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher \nMust be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship \nPreferred Qualifications\nAbility to work collaboratively in a team environment.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nEffective written and verbal communication skills.\nCoursework in circuit analysis, electronics, embedded systems, controls, or power systems.\nFamiliarity with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and power supplies.\nExperience with schematic capture, PCB design tools, or CAD software.\nBasic programming experience in C, C++, Python, or similar languages.\nKnowledge of microcontrollers, sensors, communication interfaces, or control systems.\nInterest in HVAC systems, building automation, connected products, or embedded electronics.\nPay Range\nThe annual salary for this position is between $43,500.00 - $87,500.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate. The pay range will not be below the minimum wage applicable to the jurisdiction in which the applicant is to be employed.Other Compensation\nThis position may be entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
