Based in Jeddah, this role will focus on adapting globally designed HVAC systems to regional manufacturing capabilities, market requirements, environmental conditions, and applicable regulatory standards.\nThe successful candidate will contribute to system engineering analysis, thermal simulations, prototyping, product validation, benchmarking, and value engineering initiatives. Working closely with regional and global engineering teams, the role will help deliver high-quality, cost-effective, compliant, and reliable HVAC solutions while maintaining alignment with Carrier’s global engineering standards and best practices.\nKey Responsibilities\nPerform HVAC system design simulations, heat transfer calculations, and engineering analyses to assess system performance and identify opportunities for improvement.\nSupport the development, localization, and enhancement of residential and light commercial HVAC products through prototyping, testing, and technical evaluation.\nContribute to the localization and implementation of globally developed HVAC systems within Middle East manufacturing facilities, ensuring alignment with regional requirements and operational conditions.\nSupport Middle East HVAC engineering programs, technical workshops, and cost leadership initiatives.\nParticipate in value engineering and cost optimization projects to improve product performance, manufacturability, quality, and cost competitiveness.\nConduct product benchmarking using catalogue references, physical product comparisons, and teardown activities to identify performance gaps and opportunities for improvement.\nSupport system integration, verification, validation, testing, and qualification activities throughout the product development lifecycle.\nEvaluate engineering alternatives based on technical performance, cost, risk, reliability, manufacturability, and serviceability.\nEnsure engineering activities comply with applicable industry standards, regulatory requirements, and Carrier’s global engineering processes.\nAnalyze engineering data, prepare technical reports, and present findings and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.\nIdentify potential technical risks, project delays, and cost overruns, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop effective solutions.\nRespond to customer and market requirements by supporting continuous product improvement and the implementation of engineering best practices.\nMinimum Qualifications and Experience\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.\nA minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in the HVAC industry, preferably in Research & Development (R&D), New Product Development (NPD), product engineering, or system engineering.\nPractical experience in HVAC product development, system performance evaluation, testing, or manufacturing support.\nExperience with engineering analysis, thermal calculations, simulation, or product optimization activities.\nEssential Skills and Competencies\nKnowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems, including product development, testing, and manufacturing processes.\nExperience with mechanical design and engineering simulation tools such as Creo, CFD software, and AutoCAD.\nUnderstanding of HVAC system performance, heat transfer principles, and product design fundamentals.\nAbility to analyze technical data, evaluate engineering alternatives, and develop practical solutions to complex problems.\nStrong problem-solving, analytical, and technical reporting skills.\nAbility to work effectively across multiple projects and collaborate with regional and global engineering teams.\nStrong written and verbal English communication skills.\nPreferred Qualifications and Competencies\nExposure to Middle East and Africa HVAC markets, including regional product requirements and operating conditions.\nFamiliarity with applicable HVAC industry standards and certification requirements, including AHRI, Eurovent, SASO, and MoIAT.\nExperience leading or contributing to large-scale value engineering, cost reduction, or cost leadership projects.\nExperience in product benchmarking, competitive product analysis, physical benchmarking, and teardown activities.\nUnderstanding of the complete New Product Development (NPD) lifecycle, from concept development through design, prototyping, testing, validation, and production.\nAbility to adapt quickly to established engineering processes, complex technical environments, and changing business priorities.\nCustomer-focused mindset with the ability to understand and respond effectively to technical and product performance issues.\nWhat Success Looks Like\nEffective localization of HVAC systems to meet regional market, manufacturing, and compliance requirements.\nImproved product performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost competitiveness.\nSuccessful contribution to engineering development programs and value engineering initiatives.\nTimely delivery of engineering analyses, technical recommendations, and validation activities.\nConsistent application of Carrier’s engineering standards, processes, and best practices.\nOur Commitment to You\nAt Carrier, our greatest assets are the expertise, creativity, and passion of our employees.
