This team is responsible for developing and maintaining software-based tools used to design and optimize the energy efficiency of Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems for commercial buildings. eDesign tools are used by thousands of engineering firms worldwide in their business. This position is based in Syracuse, NY.\nThe candidate’s responsibilities include but are not limited to\nDeveloping desktop application software for HVAC system design and energy modeling.\nAnalyzing software requirements and designing software solutions.\nCoding to implement solutions.\nWorking collaboratively with other developers for planning, design & code review, test planning, etc.\nPerforming unit and system testing.\nParticipating in Agile development process.\nParticipating in team project meetings.\nEvaluating and identifying new libraries, tools, and technologies for use by the software development team, as needed.\nBasic Qualifications\nMust be currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or any engineering field (junior or senior level)\nMust have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher \nMust be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship \nPreferred Qualifications\nPrevious internship experience preferred\nUnderstanding of object-oriented design and analysis (OOD and OOA)\nTechnology experience including Microsoft Visual Studio, SQL, XML, JSON, WPF, XAML.\nDemonstrated experience working on independent, self-motivated tasks, with excellent problem-solving skills.\nExperience with software development principles and processes\nExperience using agentic AI tools for software development\nExcellent verbal, writing, and presentation communication skills.\nPay Range\nThe annual salary for this position is between $43,500.00 - $87,500.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate. The pay range will not be below the minimum wage applicable to the jurisdiction in which the applicant is to be employed.Other Compensation\nThis position may be entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
