For more information, visit corporate.carrier.com or follow on Carrier social media at @Carrier.\nAbout This Role\nThe Sustaining Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the Sustaining Engineering organization and ensuring the successful lifecycle management of commercial HVAC and data center cooling products manufactured at the facility.\nThis role provides leadership for sustaining engineering resources supporting factory operations, product quality, field issue resolution, cost reduction, supplier localization, regulatory compliance, engineering change management, and product reliability improvement initiatives. The position serves as the primary engineering owner for sustaining activities and is accountable for product support after production release while partnering closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Service, Supply Chain, Product Management, Design Services, and Program Management.\nThe Sustaining Engineering Manager will build and lead a high-performing engineering team focused on delivering robust technical solutions, driving operational excellence, improving customer satisfaction, and supporting the overall business objectives of the new facility.\nKey Responsibilities:\nBuild, develop, and mentor a team of mechanical, electrical, controls, and systems engineers.\nEstablish strategy, priorities, resource plans, and execution objectives for sustaining engineering activities.\nCreate a culture of accountability, technical excellence, continuous improvement, and customer focus.\nDrive engineering productivity, prioritization, and execution of sustaining engineering projects. \nPartner with manufacturing operations to resolve production issues and improve manufacturability.\nProvide engineering leadership for factory support activities including quality escapes, non-conformances, turnbacks, and production disruptions.\nEnsure engineering changes are reviewed, documented, validated, and released in accordance with company processes.\nCoordinate implementation activities across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, service, and quality organizations.\nSupport supplier localization efforts and dual-source qualification initiatives.\nEnsure sustaining activities maintain compliance with applicable regulatory, industry, and Carrier standards.\nMaintain strong engineering governance and adherence to design standards.\nProvide clear communication, risk identification, prioritization, and status reporting to engineering and business leadership.\nTravel up to 10%.\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree and 8+ years of professional engineering experience \n5+ years of experience managing and leading project teams \nOR\nMaster’s degree and 5+ years of professional engineering experience\n5+ years of experience managing and leading project teams \nPreferred Qualifications:\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering \nHVAC industry experience\nExperience in new product development, service, or manufacturing\nExperience building a team\nStrong communication skills\nSix Sigma Certification\nPay Range\nThe annual salary for this position is between $117,500.00 - $234,500.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
